One of the better rule changes.Look up the rules for back passes.

Matchday Thread PNE v Ipswich - 03/02/24 - KO:3PM - Championship
The Ipswich keeper used his hand to clear the ball after a back pass and his miscontrol, I believe an indirect free kick in the penalty area should have been awarded.
But also it was a foul which stopped a goalscoring opportunity which is normally punished with a red card.
Maybe the ref didn’t give it because we were 3-0 up and he didn’t want the horrendous task of officiating a free kick so close to goal… it certainly would have been a sight to see!

But didn't the ball hit his body first before bobbling about etc ?Look up the rules for back passes.

( I've not studied any replay, I've got to admit)
A goalie's "not allowed to touch it with his hands" in the area?
I don't understand.
It was a back pass and so he is not allowed to use his hands….
The referee and the female linesman surely both fuvked up by not penalising it.
It happens so infrequently it probably caught them cold. Remember us getting a free kick for a back pass against Brentford at home and scoring. That was probably about six years ago.It would be interesting to get a referees interpretation of that incident.
Crazy game which we won 4-3.
It would be interesting to get THE referee's interpretation of that incident. It would be interesting to get a referees interpretation of that incident.
I've not seen a replay or slo-mo replay.
My question is- did it hit his body first before bobbling about afterwards ?
---oOo---
If there's one thing that the Club are V good at - it's closing-down the ( big screen )cameras when there's anything slightly controversial. I realise why they have to do it- but why not keep the section-in-question available for the Ref to view- Pitch- Side ?

keeper if you do read the comments others have posted you will soon realise that others, many many others don’t think or behave like Ron. Please continue giving your valued comments to the forum, they are appreciated by the vast majority. 👍🏻Just started reading the thread, another 10 pages to go, but I’m leaving the site here on page 33.
I try my best not to take life too seriously, but what I do take seriously is the fact that for over 20 years I’ve been seriously & permanently disabled.
According to yourself, I & people sadly in a similar position to myself, young & old, are apparently “woke” & need to get over ourselves when faced with your despicable comments?
My blood is boiling Ron, you have no idea how deep your crass comments cut.
Thanks & I’m out. 🖕

Ron seems to be as safe from a ban as Ryan is from the sack. Are we also having to wait until our next financial year before the moron gets banned?
Good riddance!I agree Tom lad. His comments were disgraceful, especially when trying to tell people to 'calm down'.
Looks like he hasn't posted since.
Does she have a sister? Will you be going up Anna Purna?
No, that isn’t the punishment for that offence.Red card for denying a clear goal scoring opportunity when he’s not allowed to touch it with his hands.
When was the last time nobody got booked in a match at Deepdale?
Does she have a sister?

Nope.New on the forum,
I just find it disturbing that some posters use the word C##T to describe other posters because they feel offended.
can the moderators give these posters a warning ?
There's a good reason for that.I agree Tom lad. His comments were disgraceful, especially when trying to tell people to 'calm down'.
