Has anyone ever seen Keane hit a shot with accuracy and pace ???
Sunderland at home, scuffed shot, deflection, goal.
Ipswich at home, scuffed, powder puff shot, deflected, goal.
Borough at home, scuffed , miss hit shot, deflects to Riis, goal.
It’s like every time he’s in a bit of space, he panics and shoots at earliest opportunity !
Wow. You need to fuck off with this weird agenda.

His shot last night was hit with his laces, on target, and needed to be blocked. Wasn't a scuff at all, you complete weapon.

11 goals and counting for Keano, go have a cry.

Brilliant isn’t it. Consistently causes havoc for opposition because of the unpredictability and leads to opportunities more often than not

If the shot from Keane last night had not ricocheted to Riis then we might legitimately claim that Keane had shown a degree of selfishness or unawareness that a short pass to his left would have sent Millar clean through. But strikers are selfish - they want to score and tend to shoot on sight. But they have to find the time and space to be able to do so and that is something that Keane is doing very well.

I thought last night was almost de ja vu to our six game winning streak at the start of the season. We didn’t in any way shape or form deserve to win last night, but importantly we found a way of doing so.

Middlesborough dominated the game and were the better team, who clearly lack a striker of note.

We created very little and scored via 2 slices of luck - keeper was dreadful for Millar’s goal and the huge deflection into the path of Riis.

Our midfield was so overrun for 90 minutes it was little wonder players at the back and midfield were looking fatigued and possibly injured too (whiteman/Lindsay). We rode our fair share of lady luck yesterday, which i wiill never grumble about, and we defended rather heroically at times which saw us bring home the 3 points but i cannot subscribe to us playing well or it even being a good game. For most it was like a training match, defence V Attack which we came out on top of fortunately.

Positives:
Defended well
Woodman was on form
Clinical
A win is a win

Negatives:
Tactically dominated
Created very little

All that said its better to be lucky than good!

He shoots ‘in the general direction’ and we get a goal from it .. that’ll do me 👍

Up to about an hour ago this is where I was with regards to the game last night.
However I’ve changed opinion a bit for the following reasons.
We’ve all been calling for a change of formation with two forwards and a sort of floating role for Mads.
So last night we come up against a team who have no forwards and pack their midfield….its no wonder we looked outnumbered in there….so I reckon it’s a sacrifice worth making.
As for chances I think the few chances we created were more clear cut than any of Boros.

By in large games are won and lost in Midfield. Ours last night was vacant whilst they totally dominated it - exactly like the reverse fixture where we were thumped 4-0!. The win is absolutely brilliant but, 8/10 a team who surrenders the midfield like we did last night loses. Its not sustainable for a long period to allow 20+ shots come in against you

I for one didn’t clamour for 2 up top, mainly as many a formation with 1 up top are attack minded. Most top European teams play with 1 up top but the key is having off the ball movement, something we lack whether we have 1 or 2 up top. Don’t think Barca or City would ever criticise Pep for playing a solo number 9.

Mads however is proving to be that creative spark we all hoped and thought he could be!

I thought we definitely got away with it last night, Browne and Whiteman were nowhere near their usual levels and their midfield of Azaz, Hackney and Howson was destroying us really, could get nowhere near the ball at times.

Like you say Mads showing he is that bright spark we needed because his passing range is excellent and has skill to beat his man.

Just think Browne and Whiteman were outnumbered.

His tactics made them look like a very good 7 a side team who had all the possession, scored one cracker but after that only made our keeper make one decent save.
Exactly, they created very little. Woodman made 1 decent save. I’d have saved all the rest. Yes, they had a lot of the ball in our half and put in a few decent looking crosses to no one. We struggle with teams like boro and will continue to do so but we didn’t deserve to lose.

Agree with Surf re comments regarding throw ins which are predictable and abysmal in equal measure as they usally result in a 50-50 headed challenge close to the touchline which is more often than not lost and we are on the back foot once again.
Some real variation and a quickly taken throw in to feet ( preferably a white shirt) would be a start even if it's backwards occasionally as by the time we have set up to take it, the opposition have got back into shape and the task becomes more difficult.
We have similar issues with Freddie's slow distribution too at times which runs the clock down but doesn't help the team overall.
Relieved with the win as most have said but need a better performance on saturday if we are to get the three points.
