Matchday Thread PNE v Norwich City - 13/4/24 - KO:3PM - Championship

Met up with my son, daughter and their three friend, all of whom are Norwich fans, straight after the game had finished only to be informed that we should have been given a penalty in the first half. They said that as the fall came down after hitting the crossbar one of their players, cannot remember who they said, moved an arm out and knocked the ball away from a North End player with his arm.
Just had a look at the replay, it's hard to tell from the camera angle towards the goal, but it was suspicious for sure. We'd need different camera angles to see it properly, maybe from behind the goal where your family were sitting.

That's probably the last time we'll see him in a competitive game wearing PNE colours.
Doubt it. Our football has dropped off whenever Evans has been fit because Lowe always uses him even if he’s not the right option

Fucking hope so. If only it was Lowes last game as well.
I hope so to, but not in a negative way. He was good for us in his time, but his time is up at Deepdale.

As for Lowe, he's not the best manager we've had but neither is he the worst. I had thought he was on a learning curve and getting better as a result but I think today proved me wrong on that.

Are you saying that Evan's has been injured/unfit for the last 4 or 5 months? The rest of this season will tell whether you're right but I can't believe he'd get another contract so I think your point is moot.

I think the big injury ruined him. His legs have gone and he looks (understandably) terrified to challenge for a header

I don’t think he’ll get a new deal, but I don’t think it’s the last time we’ve seen him in a competitive game. Think we’ll see him in all 4 of the remaining ones

If that happens, then I'll go back to the Lowe out camp.

I disagree that Keane didn’t look interested but I certainly thought Riis looked lazy and disinterested. Perhaps he thought that he shouldn’t have been dropped! His performance showed that it was the correct decision.
I'll expect to be slated for this but I think Riis is heavily overrated. Yes, he can score unexpected and sometimes outstanding goals but I think the adulation is misplaced. Be glad if someone with a better football brain then mine can convince me otherwise!

Scoring unexpected and outstanding goals is one of the best attributes an attacking player can have at this level. Especially in a team like us that creates so few goal scoring openings.

Goals are what keep clubs in the division. Once a team stops scoring regularly, they'll find themselves in the bottom six in no time.

I am pretty certain we will sell Riis this summer considering he's one of the few assets we have worth anything at all. So, you might get to see what losing a proven championship goalscorer means.

Just don't be expecting the transfer money to be invested back into the playing squad. Think you'll just get to see more of what the likes of 'zero shots on target in 11 apps" Stewart can offer instead.

A total mess. And a real shame too as I thought the longer we stay in the game, the more we've a chance of getting something out of it. Instead, those changes absolutely kill us.

If you're not going to win the game, sure as hell don't lose it.
Lowe would have been absolutely slaughtered on here if he’d gone with safety-first substitutions and a defensive formation, to preserve a point yesterday.

Not much in it yesterday, I thought the subs killed is yes so that's on Lowe.

Woodman though....I think he's had poor season and needs some proper competition, unlikely to happen though.
