If any did think that they had no right to especially given our overall record in the last 18 games.Because our passing was lethargic and easily read and intercepted. Our Players must have approached the game thinking it was a walk in the park.

A lot of clubs had different nicknames back then. Reading were always known as the Biscuitmen, Palace the Glaziers, and like you say, Barnsley the Colliers.Knew an old guy Years ago (probably now long gone) who was a big Barnsley fan, he always referred to them as the Colliers.
Yes, definitely remember Palace being the Glaziers, i think it was Malcolm Allison who changed it to the Eagles.A lot of clubs had different nicknames back then. Reading were always known as the Biscuitmen, Palace the Glaziers, and like you say, Barnsley the Colliers.

Need a new one for us and a new anthem to go with it. 👍
The Quakers (Darlington) and Luton (The Hatters) are 2 other examples. I think The Cobblers ( Northampton) is still used commonly.A lot of clubs had different nicknames back then. Reading were always known as the Biscuitmen, Palace the Glaziers, and like you say, Barnsley the Colliers.

Anyone from Blackpool is a twatAnyone from Yorkshire is a Tyke.
He’s finished at this level. We offered him a contract based on a purple patch and then got an unfortunate Injury.
Sooner fans realise this the better. A side who have aspirations of the play offs should not be having evans as one of their main strikers.
Agreed.
Too old now.
Your not a Luton fan by any chance, they are probably living proof that if you have the right guy in charge turds can indeed be polished, or perhaps if you have the right people making the decisions they can identify what look like turds but when you put the jet washer on them hey are actually gold bars.
Don't think there are many good bars in our squad, just turds floating to the surface sadly.
Luton are an exception/anomaly, but still give every club some hopium.

I suppose there could be a small 9 carat one amongst our youngsters who hasn't come to light yet, maybe an odd silver one, and two or three bronze bars from a squad of about 25. 🤣
just glad Lowe wasnt to blame for the result.....
at least he picked the team and formation the forum wanted after Leeds..... all down to poor players on the night for me...
some cant pass; some cant control; most cant shoot and lets not mention free kicks or corners.....plus we had 30 odd crosses into their box and only about 3 went to a white shirt.

Every club in the division would take Browne. He's in the form of his life (yesterday excepted!)Not a single top 6 (even top half) team would take any of our players for their starting 11.
ExactlyOK Millar was doubled up or tripled up on occasions that leaves us with 1/2 spare men. Why didn't we use them?
WorryingLast night's result means that we have taken only 16 points from the last 18 games.

I largely agree with your post but I reckon it was poor play rather than poor players.just glad Lowe wasnt to blame for the result.....

We were shocking in and around the box and the players selected on Friday have a lot more quality than they displayed on the night.
So it's you and who then?Last night's result means that we have taken only 16 points from the last 18 games.
Even if we manage to beat the Mackems away, this will only just drag us up to 1 point per game from the equivalent of 40% of a season.
We are still in relegation form with a difficult run of games ahead.
Lowe and Ridsdale must go.

Yes, as are Stockport County for some reason. Does anyone still call Bolton 'The Trotters'?Are Luton not still nicknamed the Hatters?
So it's you and who then?
I am not in the frame for either post.
What I want is for the owners to take this business seriously, and ensure that the business is run competent.y at a strategic and non-football operational level (Director), and at a football operational level (Manager).
That was because the badge was changed at the same time .Yes, definitely remember Palace being the Glaziers, i think it was Malcolm Allison who changed it to the Eagles.
It's Leeds who have had the most frequent badge design changes.
Both Coventry City & Bolton Wanderers badges used to feature elephants. Powerful, sure, but a tad ponderous.
Because ........they used to make ........tek a wild guess.Yes, as are Stockport County for some reason.
Since they don't have another name, probably.Does anyone still call Bolton 'The Trotters'?
"The balloons" would be a bit crap.
We're the one and only North End.Need a new one for us and a new anthem to go with it. 👍
And please, FFS no anthems.
Too much like mascots.
Maybe Manchester United should change The Red Devils to the Glaziers.Yes, definitely remember Palace being the Glaziers, i think it was Malcolm Allison who changed it to the Eagles.
Well half of Manchester would approve....
