Preston Carlisle Rivalry

Preston Carlisle Rivalry

Yeh but as you well know, that is purely down to capacity again and last season without doubt we could have done with your stadium capacity,if I`m perfectly honest!
The United game for instance could have sold out 4 times over,no problem. They would have brought 15k+ fans and we would have had 30k in home areas for that one too.As it was they got 2,500 tickets and we got 14k.🙁

Haha 30K blackpool fans...... delusional comes to mind.

Maybe that's why they call it Dunmail Raise ! We claim Dunmail as his burial cairn is in Westmorland which is indisputably in England.. unlike Carlisle which is not sure where it belongs.

Enjoy the game ? Any thoughts on PNE ?

"We"??? Who is "we"? Are you admitting to being a Cumbrian? As for Carlisle not being sure where it belongs...rubbish. We are most firmly in England and where else in England is there a still-to-be-repealed ancient local by-law making it legal, almost a requirement, to beat a Scotsman for walking the street after dusk? We, Cumberland, in recognition of our economic, intellectual and cultural superiority rightly absorbed the lesser Westmorland, a chunk of Yorkshire and a bit of that county you are nominally part of...what is it...Lancashire? As far as we in Carlisle is concerned, Barrow is the world's largest cul-de-sac and they affiliate themselves more with those people of lesser standing below the demarcated line near Clitheroe.

I think our regional and national identity has been established through wars, uprisings seiges and reiverdom more firmly than that of Preston which, let's face it, is essentially West Yorkshire in all but name.

Yes, I enjoyed the match very much except that 4 minutes added time during which you were lucky to grab an equalizer. The match was reasonably balanced but I do think we had the edge (the stats say the same) but by the same token, I'd say our man of the match was Adam Collin. His save in the first half that would have given you a third could have killed it off for us. I have to admit that your ground is a little better than ours but your concourse is very narrow and not really capable of dealing with the numbers we brought and who drank you dry.

I enjoyed the match to except from the 9 minutes of added time during which you were lucky to grab an equalizer.

I stopped off in Carlisle on my way to Glasgow last year & grabbed a quick drink in the pub on the right-hand side when you come out of the train station.

I wouldn't want to dine there, though - very scruffy.

That's because it is regarded as an "away" pub. It is redecorated occasionally by Leeds United supporters but one supposes that those from your H-Block will attempt to apply their interior design skills in March.

Just so we get this straight, you are comparing a possible home game attendance in the prem v Manchester United to a struggling and not very good PNE team home game attendance in League One v Carlisle United.

How pathetic is that? Especially as North End's crowd was considerably higher in any case.

Lugu - this post sums up exactly what we Cumbrians feel that the folk from down there in the middle lands think about us. Little do they know what we have done for them in the past, repelling hordes etc, but do they understand what is coming in the future from the Energy Coast? - we'll keep their lights and heating on!! Glad you had a good day yesterday -sorry about the late goal -but hey ho!!

Loud guffaw! 🙄
This being the same massive away support that struggled to sell 1600 tickets for a game 15 miles down the road a couple of years back and managed 137(yes, ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY SEVEN) at Mk Dongs last week.
Keep living in your fantasty world though matey if it makes you happy!

i repeat, in the last 10 seasons our away support has been superior to yours. Why not mention some shitty saturday tea time away game that was on sky? hardly a decent barometer.

Typical lasher. Nowt like twisting a few facts to prove something that everyone knows are lies. PNE is a bigger club than Blackpool. FACT. I mean using a tea time kick off coming up to Christmas that is miles away and on tele and still getting the figure wrong, then THEN uses a home prem game against Man Utd to prove a point, what a joker!! They have their season in the prem which off course boosts their gates and then they cant shut up about gates all of a sudden, no mention of this for the last 20 years though. You couldn't make it up. These lashers, if they were made of chocolate would eat themselves, I have never met a more arrogant bunch of fans. However i am glad they are like this because it makes me realize why i hate them so much.
