P.S No Blackpool, Burnley or Blackburn shirts will ever be added to the collection!

Yeah, I think there's a limit isn't there?

I admit though that I do have the Castlefield inspired Man City shirt because I love the city's architecture and the colour of the shirt more than anything.

What's your most obscure shirt?
Mine would possibly be Steaua București before they lost the court case against the Romanian Army, their shirts are hard to find. Also FK Sarajevo and Maccabi Haifa are up there.

I'd say over the years I've had shirts from the following
PNE of course
I currently have
PNE, Atalanta, Bologna, Cagliari, Chievo, Fiorentina, Genoa, Lazio, Napoli, Roma, Sassuolo, Torino, Udinese, Venezia and Parma Calcio. My favourite is Parma Calcio but my most obscure is Chievo, just an odd looking shirt ha

I've owned in the past Man City, Man United, Arsenal, Spurs, Everton, Leeds, Fulham, QPR, Reading, England, Scotland, Germany, Spain, Italy, Marseille, Valencia, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Dortmund, Tijuana, Besiktas and Aberdeen.
I've also got an England top with Nugent on the back from when he scored for England. I already had the England top and my parents got Nugent on the back haha, not sure how I feel but they tried to get it signed for me when he came back but the players stopped signing stuff etc due to covid then time crept by and he left North End.

The shirt collection goes back years and years so I tend to have them a couple of years then sell on. I use the money made from the sales to fund new additions.

I'm sure you can understand how excited I can be when North End announce a new kit although I've been a bit disappointed for the last few years.

Is the Venezia shirt the one from this season?

Which Venezia shirt do you have? Their last few with Nike have been popular but overated in my opinion.
Chievo do wear interesting shirts, aren't they called the Flying Donkies?

Tijuana, Besiktas

I've fancied a Guadalajara one myself, something about that Pepsi logo on the sleeve just makes it.
As for Turkish sides, I've got a Galatasaray one, although the colour combo is hard to match clothes with!

Yeah, I do like that, I'm glad they don't do leaks like they do with every team these days.
It used to be exciting to see teasers of upcoming kits, but then that website came along and spoilt the fun, footyheadlines is it?
I like PNE's new shirt because it's the first in years without a betting sponsor, so I really didn't even think for two seconds before buying it 🤣

Hello all,

Not sure what I want to get out of this post but perhaps just posting it might help.

Over Christmas I was lucky enough to see my family, we weren't last year due to covid.
I ended up meeting a old primary school pal which I'd lost touch with as our mothers are still good friends. It will have been over 18 years or so since we last saw each other and obviously our lives have changed since then. We've both grown up (Obviously!) and we have both got married and had kids.

When we met up we had a brief chat about what we were doing with our lives now and it was a good chat. But during the chat I felt like I hadn't progressed at all, in fact I felt like I was still the little kid back then. Yes I'm what you call a 'grown up' now and I do what everyone else does but we talked about the old times. About how we used to play footy on the park wearing football tops, how we used to play video games. However since then I collect football shirts and I'm more invested than ever in video games these days. I actively talk North End, football shirts and video games on social media.

I guess I felt embarrassed that I'm still interested in these things now as I was back then. I felt like I hadn't progressed. I also explained my work situation which involves working with my father which I really enjoy. Although he was pleasant enough to talk to I felt like my old School friend just thought of me as the same as I was back then.

Football shirts and video games. I don't know why I like them so much, my parents were never that keen on video games as they'd rather me play sports or go out with mates etc - I can tell they still don't love it when I mention them now. I've always liked them and enjoyed playing with them and I tend to keep up with the industry and like to say I'm knowledgable about them. With football shirts it started off with getting North End shirts as a child yet I started to like other tops. I just collected random shirts however I'd get questioned about what team I supported when I wore different tops. Over the years I've collected I've had Man United, Arsenal, Everton, Man City, Spurs, Leeds, Bristol Rovers and Fulham shirts to name a few as well as North Ends latest shirt. I'm limited on space so I tend to sell ones I don't wear anymore but with regards to English clubs I only own North End now because of the grief I get from people questioning who I actually support. Decided to collect Italian team shirts instead as that's easier to explain to people I digress.

I spoke to my wife about it and she said about how far we've come together over the past 8 years or so. Buying our first home, our son being born, our two brilliant albeit annoying dogs etc. This is the real progress.

I've felt a bit low about it since the start of 2022 however I'm starting to come around more to it now and being accepting of who I am and what I'm interested in. If others don't like the stuff I like and give me a hard time about it then its probably not the best to have them in your life etc.

Anyway just thought I'd share - The ramblings of a 30 year old! Ha

Also there's one shirt I've had since the very start which I'll never sell - North End home kit 2000-2002. All white with a collar, Baxi sponsor and made by Bloggs. I had one but also my dad had one too so his now fits me although the shirts were a lot more baggy back then!
Two mistakes you’ve made pal.

NEVER judge yourself.
NEVER assume what people think of you.

We are all human beings, we are all the same but we just do different things.
If what you do is legal and morally correct, then you are doing sound.
NOBODY is better than you!
Making comparisons is not the best idea. Let’s be honest, your old pal will have only told you about all the best things in his life. He is maybe striving for success in life and is a right boring, grown up, bugger.

Growing up is far overrated. Have as much fun in your life as you possibly can cos life goes by far too quickly.
Laugh, giggle, enjoy yourself and your family.

Health and happiness are the way to gauge your success in life.

I still think it’s funny when I fart and I am old.

👍👍🤣🤣😉😉

I was pleased when I got the Tijuana shirt but the Mexican shirts tend to be done via dye so the sponsors aren't added by heat press like North Ends shirt sponsor. Slightly ruins it for me because they don't look as good and feel a bit cheaper.

I'm hoping the new fan committee and North End get their heads together and improve the retail options across the board. Kits haven't been bad recently but they've not exactly been exciting. I like the small touches that make them feel special. Think one season we had 'North End' on the back at the top by the neck or something along those lines. Its the little things.

Yeah, I've got a few shirts where the sponsors (even the crest and brand logo) are dyed on. It's handy because you don't have to worry about the washing machine ruining the shirt and it's more comfortable, but it does look cheap.
I don't really like the way they make the club crests on shirts, they look like they'd peel off if someone put the wrong to wash on!

Yeah, I like shirts with nods to history or culture, I like how a lot of the African national shirts incorporate African art. Preston North End need a rose on the nape or something, or some reference to The Invincibles. Or even something like Arsenal did with their 2007/08 away shirt where the names of historical players formed part of the design.

Maps are a bit of a trend at the moment - I'd like that for sure.
Hibernian's home kit is a map style on the green section.

That's a good call, one of Brazil's teams has a map this season on their kit, Atletico Mineiro? Every so often Brazilian teams come out with some classic designs, probably to make up for the fact most of their clubs wear the same colours!

They've really missed a trick with PNE though, the amount of history the town (later city) has. Umbro would've sorted it out... Or maybe not. Puma maybe.

F
I’d never be embarrassed for who you are and what you enjoy. I am a football geek but have never really been interested in computer games even as a kid. I have some mates who unwind by playing on the consoles and these are senior guys in work.

I’ve always preferred being outdoors and never like spending money on expensive consoles.

I think my love for football is also dwindling a little although wouldn’t want to miss a PNE event
funny old thing computer games
Each to there own
To me it seems like very large amounts of time spent with absolutely no output but I am of an age where they came out well into when I had kids so I simply didn’t have the time even if I wanted to. And still don’t
