Protest?

Protest?

I stopped my 250 mile round trip 3 seasons ago, and by Christ do I enjoy myself now. Won’t put another penny in the pockets of the Hemmings and Ridsdale.

Same for me. Not missed much have we?

I end up going on out of morbid curiosity when ST mates or work tickets are pushed my way but just give my money to the Moorbrook and Deepdale Labour Club.

I am on the side of no protest, simply because right now it achieves nothing, there isn't a clear and defined object of derision, and with a new manager who is a club legend in place, our efforts should be on doing what we can to give him a 12th man, however apathetic we have become thanks to years of bad ownership.

Watford, Derby are in a mess. Lincoln can be caught and are slipping now. Relegation is not a certainty even though it looks it. 21st can be achieved!

From the outside we look like a shit fanbase. Which hurts, because we aren't. So we need to show up in big numbers away from home and sing loudly.

Then, if no take over by May, protest like fucking mad!

Which takes me to the next part. What are you hoping the outcome of the protest will be? They can’t invest currently because the window is shut, you can’t protest to make them sell because they’re literally in the process of selling. So what outcome marks a successful protest?

Nobody is suggesting everything is hunkydory, but the stupid prolonged takeover makes it very difficult to do anything (which I suspect Zedan is equally a cause of)
I take your point but I'm just really frustrated that we committed £16m in the summer but still left ourselves with the same poor defence and lacklustre forward line....

We just have to hope that Alexander will be in their ears prior to January by which time it might be too late anyway.

I suspect we’ll be near spending limits anyway - and who in their right mind would take some of our ‘superstars’ off our hands?

I keep telling myself we’re only a couple of wins away from being in touch but then I look at our forward line, then our midfield and then our defence …..

I wouldn't call PNE fans shit (apart from me. If I'm comfy I sometimes can't be arsed getting up to get the remote to switch the dodgy stick on to watch us lose) but they are placid/indifferent/too scared to rock any boats.

The Burnley comparison is valid for me. Years of prem football and good years then the season it starts to wane they are telling their board in no uncertain terms it isn't good enough.

A club update. A reassurance that takeovers are ongoing, the sacrificial firing of Ridsdale (I genuinely think that is an open goal right now). If nothing else, some stick could spark something.

I would honestly ask a) is there ever a good time for a protest? And b) has complete non protest after years of complete shite been positive or negative?

But I agree we may not be dead and buried yet. Ask me at 5pm and I might say different

All you would get is a statement from the club going we backed the manager like never before with signings he wanted. We aren’t football people and pay the recruitment team and manager to make these decisions. Craig could sit there going these defenders are shit we don’t we get new ones to be told the manager is happy.

Seriously HAS TO BE some form of demonstration against that fat fucker and his cronies at Deepdale in the next game. He has orchestrated this absolute shit show from his comfy fat arse and gas lit the fanbase at every opportunity.

The disrespect towards paying customers is deafening.
I won’t be joining in, my season card will be gathering dust for the foreseeable.

I’m not against a protest per se, the club and fan base are so stale it needs a rocket setting off.

But the club have already rolled the dice in terms of changing the manager. They have publicly stated they want to sell the club. So what would the aim be? If it’s a few half assed Ridsdale chants then that’s not changing anything meaningful.

I think getting rid of Ridsdale is meaningful. It doesn’t change the pitch side in the immediate term, but it means he can’t have do any more damage, and there’s a chance of some new ideas ready for when the changes are needed.

What changes?

Back room personnel, dare I say, players, preparing to hit the window running , dragging this club out of the noughties.

Drastic changes need making. The status quo is the absolute worst thing for us now. That cunt is the peak status quo in the club

Something has to give as the club is self imploding at an alarming rate. There's nothing to believe in, the squad is terrible, there's no strategy and now its come home to roost. Ridsdale is over 70 years old, hes creamed a substantial wage for over a decade. During that tenure we did absolutely fuck all. Why keep with the same format/leaders if they fail to deliver success? He may argue we punched above our weight, but so many teams did a lot better. Luton Town even had a year in the prem, we have had nothing. We need a fresh start, someone with a business brain is needed to lead the club, a proper transfer strategy, and investment in the youth team. This shit cannot continue, get something arranged, fuck them all.

& thats the point, they have made season tickets that cheap its no big sweat if you dont go, unlike other clubs where its a big financial commitment so you feel you have to go to get VFM at deepdale its the well it was only £300, it dont matter when compared to other stuff to pay ffs i bet some folk pay over £200 that for gas & electric / month,

We have to force Ridsdale out. He has been in charge of operations. The reason we are where we are is down to him. He is a dinosaur and we are reaping that.

Refusing to run a youth set up. Appointing pathetic scouts and recruitment set up. Lazy managerial appointments. Everything run to make his life easy.

The set up is 20 years off the pace as is he. He does not understand modern football but is allowed to run it without any checks or balances.

Get on the pitch and force this old, fat, corrupt dinosaur out. And I will use the word corrupt as I have plenty of evidence bearing in mind my missus was a young lawyer representing Leeds...

I thought at the time that Penrose made they statement at a bit of a gutless time. We made some good signings on paper and he jumped in the back of it. Since then the amount of poor decisions made by the club has been alarming. I emailed PR about a few things that I was concerned with and he was dismissive, arrogant and rude in his response. I called it out and he didn't like it. This was at the start at the season, sorry Peter but I was right again. You don't have a clue!

Agree , if nothing else surely we can expedite the fat controller’s exit so for sure he’s nowhere near the club in January for another round of transfer dealings

if the takeover doesn’t go through, which is looking increasingly likely in my opinion, the only way we get rid of the current owners is if they put us in to administration.

I’d be happy with that.
If the takeover doesn’t go through, there’s a danger we could do a Bury ?

Apart from banging on about our 19th century history and Sir Tom. We seem to be another Northern club making up the numbers and have been labelled a most boring club.

What have we contributed in recent years (decades) to football in general, would we be missed ?
