I don't know if this is true, but for some reason I think the officials are given dossiers on teams and what to look out for. If this is true, then the club should ask when this dossier was last updated and if the contents of dossier is impacting the decisions that are going against us.
I recall after getting a bad run of decisions against us, we had Anthony Taylor ref us in game against Coventry. In that game we got a penalty for something that was never a penalty and won 4-1 with us for once getting some other favourable decisions if I remember correctly.
With regards to the kick on Hughes, sometimes something happens and you just can't process that what you had seen happened. I think that was more a brain fart moment than anything else, but that is why I am more surprised that he didn't give the second penalty. Cause he had time to process the Hughes incident and should have realised that he didn't have to err on caution for the second claim.
After reading about the ref being the brother of another official that the club experienced issues with in the past, maybe it's time that refs automatically have it on their records that there could be a conflict of interest against clubs that they've had previous with and in this case it should also extend to their family members. Personally, I don't buy into it but others have been mentioning it and to protect the officisls and the integrity of the competition maybe it's time for the this to be the case. Also, it could be used to get rid of the truly awful refs.
