Until Risdale goes there won't be a change. You're actually asking the wrong question. Be honest with yourselves, who would want the North End job? Gareth Ainsworth - possibly. Billy Davis, Nigel Adkins, Owen Coyle - I don't think any of them would touch us with a barge pole. Westley clearly knows something the rest of us do not and it's nothing to do with football on the pitch. He has a smug air about him that makes me think he knows he's going nowhere but unfortunately he's taking us with him!
Replace Westley with Who?
Our best manager since Davies has been Irvine, so I would go down that route again by hiring a coach/assistant with a good profile.
Mike Phelan? Like it.

Yes but like I said he has spent a fortune, something which is now coming back to bite them on the arse.
Whereas Coyle wont want a penny?
I doubt DiCanio has spent anywhere near as much as we have over last 2 seasons with about 100+ players going through our books
Go get him in Trevor 🙂

Gary Peters and Shaun Gregan. Put an arm round these players and greegs get a bit of steel into them.
As suggested by myself some time ago of course Raef!

I'm going to go for surf and Voldemort combo. A pair of vagrant, tramp like footballing mavericks. On a more serious not Steve, I would prefer you to Westley.
Strong candidates like Adkins and Coyle will probably want a Championship club at least. Grayson has won promotion three times from League One with three different teams so credentials wise that's obviously pretty impressive.
Personally I like the idea of bringing in a management team with some connection to the club - and both our most recent successful managers (Moyes and Davies) had little or no experience prior to becoming PNE boss. Someone mentioned Gary Peters and certainly in terms of his personality we need someone like that who can connect with the fans, offer engaging media babble and more importantly get bums back on seats.
If GW survives this week, surely a loss at Colchester must seal his fate.

They will be referred to as 'kesselhoff' as opposed to Dunga.

This is my point though and you are basically endorsing it. This is the ilk of manager we will appoint because that is where we are now. So why are you directing your anger at the manager - surely it should be elsewhere in the club?
your point is utterly ridiculous. Stick with the status quo because a selection of 3 "attainable" managers, handpicked by you to prove a point, are shit managers (well 2 of them at least, Megsons proven to get results, just in the most horrendous way possible)?
The shocking thing is, each one would be an improvmenet on what we have right now.

So would I. At least Surf has a genuine love for the club and would win the fans back. He hasn't done too badly with the fans team either. Certainly I would seriously have him before Westley every day of the week.

Sorry EJ. I really don't think my argument is aimed at you by the way, you seem quite rational.
A large part of my point is that there is a large proportion of our fans who basically have never got over Billy Davies, a strange cultish hero worship which oddly wasn't afforded to David Moyes. They believe that anybody who comes needs to be hounded out of the club in the vain hope that the dwarf that hides in the cupboard will come back.
But, I do stand by a point that you are questioning. The "3 attainable managers, handpicked by you to prove a point" are those that would be atop the shortlist. It's where we are. I'm willing to stake quite a lot of money on Hart being the next manager if GW goes.

Interesting point, why do you think that was?

As the title says. I've not slagged Westley off and been willing to give him a chance. We won't go down as there are worse teams than us but our current position is not acceptable. If we sack the manager, who (sensibly *) could we get in to replace him and who would make a difference? There's no point swapping for swapping sake despite the knee jerk reaction to do so.
* ie. not Ferguson(Alex),Billy D. etc.
Gregan with Rankine as assistant - crowds will return with atmosphere to follow

I think we were riding the crest of a wave when Moysie went. His departure to a bigger club was inevitable and his success at the same club for several years sealed our fate with him. Billy Davies was the perceived success we thought we had lost when Everton came calling. BD has not been a continued success for any club since and therefore more attainable than Moysie. No other reason than that in my view anyway.
Nice thought mate, but they have no managerial experience whatsoever!!

pretty sure Gregan has gained or on the verge of doing the top badges - you have to start somewhere - cost nothing to bring them here

Neither did Billy Davies.

but even if you are right about Hart, there are the same points in rebuttal to that being a reason to not sack GW.Sorry EJ. I really don't think my argument is aimed at you by the way, you seem quite rational.

1. We cant really legislate for Ridsdale being a dickhead. if he wants to employ a shit manager then so be it. We cant stop that at any time.
2. Hes still probably a better option than GW anyway. Like I say, we arent talking about someone whos lacking a bit of luck and falling short of unrealistically high expectations. Westley has fallen flat on his face in pretty much every single endeavour since being here.

Or Moyes.
