State of that squad 🙁

[OB1]

“Ched Evans is in discussions to continue in a coaching role” - FFS. I’ve seen this film before 🤦‍♂️

August 31st - “we’ve only signed one striker because we’ve got XYZ and of course Ched offers us something different”

Top 6 League One at best.

Big job on 🤢

A genuine depth of quality 🙄

Think that's being generous—League One isn't the same hole we climbed out of 10 years ago.

Taken us 10 years to build a squad that has relegation written all over it.

That list is horrific 😩

[shabbagaz]

"Fans are asking the Hemmings family to spend more money". This is one of the reasons why (albeit not waste what we do spend on shite this time).

[Jürgen Krapp]

Uninspiring and largely predictable.

Ched as coach is the new talking point though (or a repeated one from last year). Is this because Heckingbottom wants him as a coach or has it been dictated that Ched gets a coaching spot?

We do have form in suggesting managers work with certain coaches and in January I inferred Heckingbottom didn't think Ched was focused enough on coaching.

No way. Lower league one at best, and im not being dramatic.

IMHO had we gone down with the squad we had it would be more likely bottom 6 rather than top 6.

[HunterLionheart]

Thought Seary had already signed on for 6 months for his rehabilitation tbh.

What a downfall for Best, from next big thing to not even offered a cursory deal.

That contracted professionals list is a scary read. There 9 players on there's at least that i'd fuck off straight away.

Gonna be a long long season, get buying those season tickets people!

[SF]

Surprised Kaeden Kamara has earned a pro deal.

I count 14 contracted senior professionals, including Okkels and Whatmough, who hopefully aren't considered part of the squad.

Genuine opportunity to move the squad in a different direction. I'm not seeing much to complain about, the bad extensions were done a while back.

[Mr Meeseeks]

Replacing your number one goalie, top goalscorer and player of the season in one window. Heavy.
