RIP Shaky

RIP Shaky

All the mods have the pay pal address to donate to. I don't want to publish it for obvious reasons. All those donating I'll sign names in a card and will get flowers and donate the rest to a charity of his/their choice

The club have said if anyone would like to move seats to the BSK for Saturday you can.

All you have to do is take your season ticket to the Ticket Office and they will take your voucher and give you a match ticket.

The sooner you swap the better and and it has to be done before 12:30 on a match day.

If/when they choose or nominate a charity then post it up please. I've a charity account I can only donate directly from I'd like to put to good use

No worries. If Jacqui cant think of one I think we should split it. Send some to the retired greyhound trust as he loved his dog racing and hound trails... And his dogs in general, and the other to something like St Catherines as him mum was ill with cancer for a while. I'm sure he would like that. I'll check with his family first though... I'm sure they will think of something.

Magic, thanks, I did try and seei fthere was any Hound Trailing type charities myself, but the retired greyhounds could be a good one

His responses to others peoples thread were most entertaining & certainly pulled no punches.
I particularly liked his hatred of the misuse of "of" rather than "have" , and his criticism of a certain Leeds goalie gave me loads of laughs.

His loss is our loss.

I was very shocked on reading of his passing when I logged on yesterday morning. I've read through all the thread and I realise that he was a completely different bloke in reality compared to his persona on here. I've never spoken to him but have seen him on the Kop a few times, and judging by the number of tributes and views of this thread he clearly was a popular bloke.

Shaky I never always agreed with the stuff you posted, but I certainly found your baiting of others amusing and it made this forum entertaining when there was not much else happening.

RIP and condolences to your family and friends.

Logged on this morning and just got the bad news. I've ready every single post in this thread, my own tribute if you will, and it's taken an hour and a half. It is touching that so many people feel the desire to comment.

I met Shaky through this forum. Might have been around 2004? and there was a meet-up, upstairs at The Angel (how appropriate just now) where people were putting faces to names over a few pints. It was a good do. He came up to me, glass in hand and said,
"Who are you then?"
"I'm Tark."
"Oh you're alright, You talk sense."
Then we had a chat for a while, can't really remember what about, though it is likely it concerned which posters he thought were clueless fuckers. I got the feeling that here was a man not to be dicked with, and we've never crossed swords on here, probably because my nonesense is not worth the effort. I met him several times for pre-match pints in the New Brit with Shinny and others, including Roy Bunce, who doesn't have a computer, but I'm sure will allow me to send condolencies here on his behalf.

Shaky is unsurpassed at the put down and his ability to invent new swear words quite stunning. They always got right to the nub of the insult with rapier precision. As often as not, this would be the funniest moment of my day. Thank you Shaky.

So whilst I met him several times, I can't claim to have really known him, other than he did have generally dreadful taste in the coats he wore.

I will miss him on this forum as much as everyone else. If folk do take a train trip up to Ulverston, that's going to be one hell of a ride. Don't forget that he'd want you to enjoy it - at least you don't have to watch fucking PNE play when you get there!

Kind regards to all, and keep remembering all the really good stuff about Shaky which has enriched so many of our lives.

Rest In Peace.

There's a place in Ulverston, think it was there, where Shaky and his sister donated some monies, it was the place that cared for his mum, maybe that place Katie. I'm sure Becky or Dave's wife could tell you exactly where or maybe, as you say, to somewhere like St. Catherine's.

Good idea, I had forgotten about that.

Met him only once, but a very amusing, articulate and smart guy. God Bless fella.
Thoughts go out to his family. Hope this thread gives you some help and strength.
