RIP Shaky

RIP Shaky

Very shocking news. Like many others I didn't know Shaky personally but had plenty of interaction with him on here, including the odd disagreement (didn't we all??!!). However he took the time to send me a few PM's offering help or info on things that had been mentioned in various threads.

Also used to look forward to logging on early in the morning to see which threads had been updated and often saw he had updated loads and I also remember the classic thread where he described in immense detail what his job was and how no fooker else could do it when he was slated for having so many posts.

RIP.

Good little article that, especially this bit.......

What is your favourite Preston shirt: The red away shirt, '95 - '96 with a PNE "cube" woven into the fabric. Mine must have shrunk, because I can't get close to fitting into it now!

Hahaha, Brilliant stuff!

I love the whole article...Shaky all over and I took the photo of Shaky, Katie and John that he chose to put on there. So loved that weekend at Southampton, will never ever forget it and the fun on the coach. So missing him on here already...God help and bless his family and close friends xx

I remember the furore on here when Shaky got selected as Fan of the Week - people were going nuts!!

Surf set it up as a wind-up if I remember rightly. 😀

This bit had me crying out loud, talk about taking the piss!!!!!

Who would you sign for PNE given the chance: Carlo Nash, the best keeper I have ever seen play for PNE and totally wasted on the bench at Everton. He would also be pivotal in realising Andy Lonergan's obvious potential.

My personal fave bit is when he says he is disappointed there is no song for the chairman!!!

WDD!!

Can't believe this sad news about Shaky - I remember run-ins with Shaky and fff on numerous issues. Shaky stuck up for me a few times and had a great love of the natural world. He suffered greatly from guilt for having shot a blue tit with an air rifle in his youth. His guilt betrayed a soft heart and caring nature. Hardly knew him really but will miss him greatly nevertheless. Just wonder how long it would 'of' been before he got stuck in to Stuckman? Bye Bye Shaky - a good egg.

This all still seems quite surreal to me, I do a double take every time I look at the main page and see this thread sitting there.

He certainly left a big impression on people, many of whom never met him. Some quite amazing tributes.
