RIP Shaky

RIP Shaky

One more:

Shaky was an honorary member of PNEYSC:

He would opt for the monotonous 2hr journey to Leeds for any Yorkshire away fixture just to meet up with us. Sometimes with Al & JK. Generally greeted by the Belgian breakfast brigade:

myself (horse), Sentinel, Chorleyboy, StevePNEYSC, Garforth

Just thought, didn't Shaky come up with the chant "Oyston's Sewing Bags"? If so, I think a rendition of that is warranted on Saturday!

This is by far the greatest chant ever, omly possibly matched by, 'with a packet of sweets and a cheesy smile', absolutely 100% football banter at its highest level. To invent this chant shows the intelligence of a complete legend!

Am I the only person to try and kill old slack-bladder?

Coventry away, pulled into a grassy car park to see Shaky wandering across the baron field so I headed towards him. "you fucking BMW wanker" he shouted and proceeded to try and pull the door open and drag me out, before he realised it was me!

Needed that laugh 🙂

Ha ha ha! He'd jumped out of my car "need a piss" and started heading towards a hedge when that happened! Put him off needing a pee though till we got to the pub! Quality day out!!

First person to welcome me to the forum and also first to help me with the ins and outs of it.
RIP shaky and thank you, thoughts to your family and friends at this time x

Notts County away 95-96 season.
Shakey was singing it to us all the way down in the car.
It took a few renditions of it at the ground before it caught on with the masses and as they say in popular music parlance.......it was a smash hit.

I remember this like it was yesterday! Slight correction that it was the 96/97 season.. We took loads there, as we often did in those days. Fantastic. he also made up the popular Andy Saville chant of that season too.

Rest in peace mate x

Brilliant day. I can remember sat with my folks outside a pub (that is now hooters I think) in glorious sunshine.

Thousands of nobbers.

Good Times.

It's interesting that NJ and JK (who were only pups) remember the day vividly while Kendal got the seasons mixed up and I can't remember whether I went by car, train or coach even though it was such a big day. It was the first game after promotion, a massive away following and a big stadium (compared to what we were used to at the time) Yet, like many other away days of the time the memories seem to blur into one due to the alcohol.

What I do remember from the day though, apart from getting beat, is the noise. Thousands of Nobbers under that big steel roof singing "Oyston's Sewing Bags" It was deafening.

I suffer from tinnitus these days. I blame Shaky!!

so the packet of sweets one was Shaky as well? thought it was bloody brilliant that one!

It started in that pub pre game. We were sat there and the march came trough when they were protesting about their chairman and board. Shaky said "Christ I can imagine the usual suspects liking Derek's arse and telling us to e thankful we have him not someone else... Well fucking done Derek.... Wish d brought a banner saying that..." and that was it every time someone said anything it was WDD!

And then on the game the "We're the one and only North End" chant started. First off we finished it with We are Shit Fans instead of we hate Blackpool and then it turned into WDD.

I'm crying again now!

Just remembered.

Well Done Derek
Well Done Son
Well Done Derek
Let's have another loan

Des, was this the game where a few of us had a walk over to Forest's game and ended up finding a way in and playing football on the pitch?

Even so, no Idea how we got there but probably with Cosgroves.
