you obviously don’t read mine, I said you don’t buy the tickets of those you accuse of not making enough noise to suit you. You are the one on a flight of fancy thinking we should be celebrating nothing like Liverpool fans winning in Europe!

Nope you've lost me. I've accused no one of anything. Read back.

My point about Liverpool was that even though they have an atmosphere that is known to assist the players, they've never decided to play without a manager as you suggested. The point was that the atmosphere from the crowd helps the players. I didn't think that would need explaining.

We do have a serious lack of chants for our players as well.

On this we are agreed. That’s another thing there are only so many times you can sing about a team we don’t even play, so instead of complaining about people why not introduce something new? There could be a fortnightly or even monthly meet up fans to compose and introduce something new that everyone can be taught pre game by those composing singing it first. It sure as hell beats complaints about a lack of atmosphere.

Ah until your last sentence you were doing okay. Instead of using the word "complaint" try the word "observation."

I actually think most of these chants are created at away games, heard loads over the years that start in the pub and then carry on I to the ground.

They probably do, that's what I mean about the unofficial unrestricted seating, at away games people off the coaches can meet up in pubs or the concourse then sit together with likeminded people and it builds from there.

Those guys now can't sit together at home and are split up. Possibly lose self-confidence and don't start chants while isolated etc etc..

Maybe an unreserverd seating section where people can buy a season ticket for anywhere on say the back 5 rows of the town end, see how that goes, if atmosphere improves, then they can look at converting those areas to safe standing. It'd be free to impliment the first part of that before committing to installing the new seats

Erm, no.

I have a seat with about 8 or 9 mates who are all ST Holders.

I turn up about to my seat about 1 minute before KO. If I'm there 10 minutes early, then it's a shock to everyone. 😂 Making it a "free for all" loses me my seat with my mates.

We all stand up btw.

This is what the Gentry Bar COULD have been for but with their obscene pricing strategy it won't become that.

All these early kick offs and grounds in car showroom areas doesn't help with that.

The music doesn't need to be turned off but a lot lower.

I agree that most of those chants were created at away games. The only way to get anything new, and it absolutely needs something new, is for a group to meet up once every few weeks creating something, learning it together and then starting it on the stands. The same old Blackpool songs are just not cutting it anymore.

That wouldn't happen and not part of what safe standing is about.

Safe standing involves everyone being allocated a seat but able to stand in front of it.

The way to do it would be to offer those who already have seats like @Jack Daniels to keep their seats to stand and offer a relocation to others.

You then open up the rest for season ticket holders to move to safe standing, then sell tickets as normal for the rest.

This would give opportunity for those mates to move together in one go.

The club could do a consultation with those season ticket holders on the back rows prior to this.

I know you still have a seat for safe standing, my comment was aimed more at the previous comment about away games having unreserved seating which helps to improve atmosphere, an unallocated section could help with that

I wont ever use it but Ive voted yes because I believe the option should be there for those that want it.

As for last nights atmosphere, I have to say there was a lot of anger in the seats around us. Some folk were expressing how they felt that theyd taken one up the jacksy from the club.

The chances of any atmosphere died 1 hour before the KO.

Nobody expects to beat Arsenal but what they do want to see are our players giving it a damned good go, not a bunch of players who, under instructions from the club, walk out with a white flag flying.

That first 20 mins was a complete embarrassment and as soon as that first goal went in it killed what little atmosphere there was.

We wont get safe standing for the same reason we didnt dare put out a half competitive squad last night. Ambition, or I should say lack of it.

Oh, lets be honest here, that 2nd half capitulation at Plymouth didnt help either. Its what weve come to expect and, another fact of life here, This new management team will soon learn, as other managers have done, that theres only so much you can get out of this group of players before they die on their feet.

You're always going to to get people who have season tickets up there who won't want safe standing. If the club are going to introduce it they have to just pick an area and say this is where its going, if you don't want to stand then you're free to move to any other part of the ground at no extra cost.

Yes. Because if Ben Whiteman, Brad Potts and Jordan Storey had been on the teamsheet the atmosphere would have been electric...
