Season ticket Strategy

Your first post makes no sense of any kind - just what is the objective for doubling season ticket prices?

If you can't see that it isn't even an "Idea" - surely you can see that it's lunacy 😎

the point is, the more we sell the more of a rebate you will get further down the line, if there was a way of doing this surely the club could agree with the strategy because either way.....i cant be arsed anymore, i've had enough any, i'll watch this season and then i'm off, totally fallen out of love with football and this country, just full of pure *****! you all want to moan, but youy do fuck all about your problems, and you wonder why our club is falling apart! its the minority that spoil it for the rest.

Mark, I appreciate your effort to come up with something but your pricing structure is all wrong.

I would wager North End wouldn't sell 100 season tickets at nearly £700 each, never mind 5,000 - even on the basis that people would eventually get a fair wedge of that back. Who's got a spare £670 lying about at the moment? Not me.

As I say, your idea is good, your prices are all wrong. You'd be better starting off at £350 on 8,000 sold, £325 on 9,000, £300 on 10,000, £275 on 11,000 or something along those lines.

Or you got the opposite way and do something akin to Huddersfield who shifted 16,000 at £100 (or £150) a go.

Unfortunately it looks like we're going with the same pricing structure as last season which will probably see us sell about 8k and plod along on an 11k or so average.

Steady on fella - your plan makes no commercial sense - if you have fallen out with football, why would paying more solve that for you or anyone else?

I'm part of the group of fans who likes football and accepts that a degree or realism is required to support PNE. I dream of success, but i don't demand or expect it as a right.

its more getting frustrated with people shooting things down without discussing, the figures are in reference to turnover of 10000 tickets @ £335, the more you go over the cheaper the tickets get, i thought if we could unit PNE fans to make a commitment, didn't know how we could do that bit, thats why its on the forum, we wouldn't be paying £670. I know what the problem is RowZ, i have mentioned that many times. thats why its on here, to find a solution! but some people cant understand that????? And ehy wonder why this country is going down the pan? If we was in France now, we'd be rioting about the econemy, at least the french have some passion, we've just turned into lazy can't be arsed people and you wonder why we get taken advantage of! You come up with something better, cheers for your comments, but everyone will just accept things as usual, but to me football is almost dead, on its last legs for us, i mean look at this seasons attendences??? FFS!

who is talking about success, i'm just talking about not being ripped off, its not just our club, you ask southampton fans how much they pay for a season ticket? its a joke! I have never demanded success!

and can you not see, the point is.....we can have cheap season tickets if we all buy 1, of we don't it pushes the prices up! So if we can find away of getting 15000 season ticket holders rather than 8000, Derek might bring the prices down, but its finding the way to make sure it happens, my idea was just 1 way round it so both the customer and the club can agree on, the club are not going t odo it on a risk if someone proposed it to em.

your thick as pig shit mate! try reading the posts, why do you think i've listed prices from the 5000 mark all the way up to the 20000 mark or wherever i stopped???

You've lost me now, your plan was confusing as it had no objective as far as I could see. It was like March madness in reverse during a recession - you got the idea from "Price drop TV" didn't you?

That's not real you know - they always stop the drop at the price they wanted to sell you the crap you that never knew you needed (until you saw it on TV) 🙄

get a calculator out and work it out for yourself, the turnover in profit for the figures on an adult ticket works out the same, no matter which amount, so if we sell 5000 the club make the same money, if you sell 10000 the club makes the same money, if you sell 15000 the club make the same money.... the incentive is wit hthe fans to sign up! dunno why i'm wasting my time explaining this to you, your probably just enjoying winding me up and i'm not sure why i'm taking the bait.....anyone no one gives a shit anyway, so why should you care or me, fuck it off i say.

If you hadn't been on here since yesterday complaining that £420 was too much of a price increase(even though we still haven't established if prices are to be discounted) and you wouldn't buy a ticket it might have been an ok idea in principle.

This is possibly THE stupidest idea anyone has ever dared to propose.

No it isn't. The idea that we should not hold on to the ball in the corner with 20 seconds left on the clock is the stupidest idea anyone has ever dared to propose.

wtf

wtf

I m out.

How about the overpaid w'nkers who pretend to be footballers coughing up the balance between a standard price and £670...............and slowly claw it back depending on results and performance.

A sort of Players Bond. Somehow I do not think they will buy into that just as the fans will not.

PS With respect you might consider never to start your own business - ffs sake season tickets will be hard enough to shift next term even at a reduced rate .

Two words - variable costs.

If you sell more they increase, if you sell less they decrease.

Profit is subjective too - PNE don't make a profit - they make a big loss.

What better way to wreck the club's cashflow then to double the price of a season ticket and then offer the incentive like price drop TV that is you were mad enough to buy at £670, you'll feel good about paying more for the same thing becasue you are bailing the club out. Cool.

mark_prest - what do I get for my £670?

This is possibly THE stupidest idea anyone has ever dared to propose.

Why would anybody pay more for the same thing?

It's not a scheme, its a plan on a par with the imfamous 5 year plan - its nuts, and I think it must be a wind up 😉

Give the fella a break at least he has put up an idea for increasing both revenue and attendance next season although it is a little floored.

What is yours?

Mine is decrease the ST prices and make the profit on beer and food.

For F*cks sake I thought I'd seen it all, but this one is the top thread of all time for absolute balderdash.

And as for spelling etc well I'm amazed.

How to bankrupt your club in one foul swoop read mark prest!

I'm just amazed Voldemort hasn't thought of it sooner!!!

Jesus Christ, the word is 'flawed'. I bet Derek will be pissing himself laughing at this thread.

Who would pay £670 for an early ticket and have to gamble on more people signing up to get their money back? It just won't work. Sorry Mark, an interesting idea but it just won't fly. Try again.

Just one minor detail - PNE get the same amount of money regardless of how much beer, pies etc are sold as the catering side is franchised out.

How constrictive thanks for the spelling leson.

In answer to your question perhaps the same people who are prepared to gamble on us getting the same amount of season ticket holders as last season at the same price. Sorry the marketing department, boring idea it just won't fly. Try again.

Now I know some will shoot me down and I can see 1 downside to my strategy already, but maybe we can discuss the point that using £670 as a starting point will put some poeple off, and it is a risk but everything has an eliment of risk at the end of the day.

I have used the 5000 mark of season tickets sold as I feel we will get at least get half the supporters with season tickets to buy into this initially. I thought if each season ticket holder pays £670 to start up with, we could have counter on the offish website declaring how many season tickets sold and as the number goes up, we get a redemption at say the beginning of the season, or Christmas, that is yet to be decided but remember this is just a concept at the minute. I thought if we have 1 price for adults, the ones that sign up 1st and get the ball rolling are the ones that get to pick the better seats, just like arena gigs etc.

Now I cam see floors in my plan, like the initially starting price, maybe the ones that can't afford can be put into a payment plan over the season, I haven't included kids, Disabled or Senior fans. But could something like this ever work? I don't know the split down the figures PNE release to the public, such as when they release the 10000 figure the other year, did this include unders 8s, so i have literally just gone on adult tickets.

Maybe this is too late this season, but maybe we could get something in place for next? Would you sign up to something like this?but once you get to the higher end, the prices do look really attractive, we'd obvioulsy need to get the word out. just trying to think out of the box!

100000 season tickets @ £335 = £3,350,000

Highest £670 = 5000 tickes sold - starting point

£560 = 6000 Season tickets sold

£480 = 7000 Season Tickets sold

£420 = 8000 Season Tickets sold

£372 = 9000 Season Tickets sold

£335 = 10000 Season Tickets sold

£305 = 11000 Season Tickets sold

£280 = 12000 Season Tickets sold

£258 = 13000 Season Tickets sold

£240 = 14000 Season Tickets sold

£224 = 15000 Season Tickets sold

£210 = 16000 Season Tickets sold

£200 = 17000 Season Tickets sold

£187 = 18000 Season Tickets sold

£176 = 19000 Season Tickets sold

£168 = 20000 Season Tickets sold

At what price would you buy?
