Silly Milly Song

Silly Milly Song

The atmosphere question is merely a product of the change in times and isn't unique to us.
The cup game on Friday was, from the beginning, noticeably louder and enthusiastic than a league game despite there being thousands less in attendance.
Who makes noise? It's not season ticket holders of 60 years. It's not the seated couples of the STFS. It's the "stupid kids in the corner" who pay just as much as every body else to be there.
These stupid kids, however, don't have the luxury of tickets to the football being cheaper than a cinema ticket.
I wonder why the ground is louder when tickets are a tenner?
There's pictures floating around X of a big group of our 'youth' out looking for Wigans 'youth' on Friday. I'd hazard a guess that most of them where up near the drum.

Hypothetically.

If the back 10/15 rows across the Town End are changed to safe standing from next season.

Everyone who currently has a season ticket in those areas could get first refusal on keeping that seat/standing position.

If they would rather stay seating, they then get first refusal of any of seat in the stand or transfer to any other seats in the stadium.

Once all that is sorted the the remaining safe standing spaces are released to current season ticket holders across the whole stadium. Then any remaining spaces are sold openly as normal either as ST seats or match by match.

There would be no perfect way to do this and yes a number of supporters may be aggrieved but I am still aggrieved I can't go on the BSK but it is what it is.

Personally I would split the Kop and make the entire stand rail seating but that is never going to happen under this CEO, so a compromise has to be made.

I respect you sit with your group of friends but what about other groups of younger (not me) or families of supporters who have never had the opportunity to sit/stand together before?

The above is just an example of what compromise could be implemented following a fan consultation.
The club just need to bite the bullet and do it. The number of moaners will be minimal in the grand scheme of things. And as @B(rad)P(otts)IG said if they then refuse to buy another season ticket, how much of a fan are they?

I am confident we would all engage with such a fan consultation...

Anything that costs money outside of "The Budget is The Budget" or "The Money is The Money" ain't going to happen.

Can someone with far better skills than I have mock up a photo of Penrose holding up a briefcase with the words "The Budget is The Budget".

Although it absolutely should be done, there's no way they'll invest in safe standing and a new quality pitch at the same time. Sadly, that means no safe standing next season, as the pitch simply MUST be sorted. The pitch is absolutely non-negotiable for next season.

The disappearance of triumphal march from Deepdale is a travesty that must be rectified.

I must admit I cringe at a few 'chants' the morons come out with these days, a personal ick is the 'you're fucking shitttt' chant. Idiotic.
It’s difficult when you might create something that might offend somebody……somewhere…..
