I like the ones where he traps the ball around the corner of the penalty area, rolls it forward a bit, think about his options then just smashes it across the flailing former north end keeper into the far corner. Then goes fucking mental.

You have to love the man.

The original announcement says "at least 2026" so I strongly suspect there's been some kind of appearance based trigger for an extra year that has already been activated when "an extension" got rumoured in the Summer.

I'm not sure why he went back on the pitch in the first place, after his initial treatment. We were 0-3 down and getting nowhere in the game.

It would have been the right time to sell with Huddersfield being keen to sign.

It was stated on here that he had been given an extention, then he got injured almost immediately afterwards, so nothing ever got confirmed.
 
Another one to add to the random contract extension club.

Don't get me wrong, I think he's been a good servant (and I have a framed 909 illustration of him banging in the worldie vs Luton!), but we've moved on now to better players. Why we keep handing out contracts for sentimental reasons or as a reward for putting in a shift, I have no idea.

If we want to progress as a club we need to upgrade players and be moving others on continuously. That's the reality of football. We're like Charity FC.
