So Who Now ?

So Who Now ?

It might sound ridiculous. It does sound ridiculous. But why wouldn't Stumpy want the job?

He was adored by the fans during his time here. All the ill feeling from our side would be forgotten in an instant if he came back. Any beef he had with the Club was with Shaw and the last regime.

Billy Davies could easily get this team promoted with very little outlay in January. That would be a nice little promotion to add to his CV and I'm sure Trevor would back him for a tilt at the Premiership after that.

Of course he's a self centred little shit who would see us only as a stepping stone, but if he did return and take us up, only for it to ends in tears 12 months later, but we're back in the Championship, I'd take that.

I'd buy a half season ticket tomorrow if he came back.

Ex-player to return as player-manager?

I'm going to be completely fickle here. I'm willing to forgive Billy Davies for what happened - if he took over i'd cream myself.

Can't see it happening though!

It will be David Unsworth until the end of the season. And rightly so.

The era of big name , high salary managers, and backing them in the transfer market has to end.

It is back to the Moyes model for me.

Unsworth has shown enough to be given a crack. His brief must be to work with what he has got. We will try to retain players, but we must not do any silly loans or purchases.

Agree with this, people need to take stock of where the club is currently and refocus their expectations!

I wonder if members of this board will be as successful at predicting the new manager as we were with predicting the new Chairman the other week?

Hearing very VERY strong things about BD being already lined up!

As much as I think he is a nob, putting the future of the club first he would have to be first choice.

I don't see you as a bullshitter JK. You know who you've spoken to, and how "first-hand" the suggestion is...

... given that you can get 7/2 against BD, are you confident enough to put money on it.... An amount that is 'more than just a flutter' ??

Sky Bet are actually offering odds on him 200/1

They must of been struggling to fill the list and just picked him out of a hat!

I imagine Shaky would offer more than 200/1 if anyone wants a bet on Beckham returning.

Why?

Hemmings has just hired a high profile (and expensive) Chairman who has taken just a week to sack his manager. Risdale's expectations are obviously higher than the dross served up by Brown. So are mine.
