Yes, I can confirm that WIBG is currently banned from the forum. However, the moderation team only discuss the reasons for the ban with the individual poster, so don't bother asking why!!

Permanent or temporary? Can you tell us that?

Temporary. He'll be back before long I'm sure.

Cheers.

Re the other discussion...ie, are the mods being too trigger happy...I`ll just say that for now the new team still have my support for their approach.

Before the election I posted that the only way to knock these old feuds on the head was with a zero tolerance attitude, or they`d fester again. I `ll stick to that.

In time, they can ease off, having laid the groundrules, imo.

Far better bud.

Certain posters spat dummies out and reported him over and over, and from what I remember the mods at the time had a 'religions' slant to them and he was gone.

I'm pretty sure I'd be in the minority but the more "outrageous" postings the better imho ..... As long as they are limited to " off topic " and don't break any laws or jeopordise the forum......... FFS... What's wrong in having a laugh?

Even George and Nobber agreed with each other back then.

IMO...

The best way to deal with all the petty arguments is to move them to off topic and then let people do/say what they want there but without closing any threads; just let the threads run their course I say. Surely by closing threads early it just means certain posters are waiting for the opportunity to bite back at another user? It's off topic so it's not doing any harm; in fact I bet a fair few people read the off topic section purely for the bitch fights! No point trying to police it because it's always going to happen, just try and keep it off the main forum(s) so it doesn't get in the way of any decent discussion.

Re deleting posts - not noticed that occurring but some users have said it's the case? Can't say I agree with that, seems a bit OTT.

Re WUMs - sometimes they can be funny but when it's excessive, like in WIBGs case, it seems a tad weird. Having said that, you've only got yourself to blame if you take the bait. WUMs thrive off the bites they get so the simple solution is to not give them any.

It would appear that being a mod is a thankless task though so fair play for volunteering for it.

Your post has validity and I agree with a lot of it. The ongoing problem is that off-topic spats ritually end up everywhere as people are generally like dogs with bones and wish to carry on wherever and whenever they can. I guess it's for people to decide if they would prefer a "playground" where anything goes, as long as the kids shut during up lessons. For now, the kids are disrupting lessons so it's no ball games at playtime either.

As ever if people could learn to self moderate rather than being wet nursed it'd help everyone

That's not very democratic Gaz........ Why no " openess " ?........... We all know he's a bit of a twat ( on purpose ) but what's he done to warrant a banning?......... Getting on peoples tits?............... I think that ( as posters ) we ALL do that from time to time.........

I agree with you fella, but it would seem some posters can't 'hack it' now and have decided to report every little thing, resulting in bans for the more 'interesting' posters.

There's a lot of sense in there but it seems to have gone unnoticed.

Fair point, but we've always discussed any infractions/warnings directly with the poster. If they wish to make it public down the line, that's up to them. If we openly discussed every warning or PM made, it'd clog up the forum and make the format of moderation team pointless.

Which is why I always tried not to fall out on the pne section....

Didn't always work, but was quite rare.

Off topic, news etc I may have got ever so slightly involved.....on very very rare occasions....but I understood the footy section was where a lot of people just wanted to talk pne.
