Shame it didn’t work out, but much like most of Lowe’s signings, only really had one attribute that was Championship level and that’s not sufficient

No criticisms for his effort and his professionalism despite being a bench player

Really liked how he played his first few games for us but then trailed off a bit and couldn’t really find a role that suited.

Definitely a player who can drive forwards and make things happen. A shame we didn’t see more of him at his best.

Good luck in Germany, Thor!

Didn't get to play in his preferred role often enough, but when he did, he did well, however does lack the physicality for this league really, so would always have needed someone like McCann next to him.

Really liked him and defended him against others who thought he was shite. Was press resistant, and had a good passing range. Just needed improvement in some of those other areas to become a good player in the league so that he could potentially play in the other roles where he was more used.

Best of luck to him in Germany. Hope he smashes it. But it's the right move for both parties as he's not really been needed in the squad since Thompson's return. So long as we do bring back Armstrong or sign another midfielder if he doesn't return.

H96 are a good club for him and they have a decent shot of promotion this season or at least battling for it.

Good luck to him, hope we use this money wisely.

Hope it works out for him in Germany with Hannover96.

Just didn't work out for him here so I'm glad he's got a good move.

Lets see if this "undisclosed fee" actually gets reinvested into the squad.

I wish him well in his career, he did ok for us, but for me championship football was a little too physical for him? Goes with my best wishes! Hopefully this is the start of a little business for the club???????

Echoing the thoughts of others.
It's a shame he didn't quite make the break through here, a lot of us where willing it to happen because you could see that he had some attributes.
Unfortunately it wasn't to be.
Maybe he will fare better in Bundesliga 2.
I might be wrong but i get the impression its not quite as intense as the Championship, and it's the pace and physicality that he didn't really adjust to here, on a week to week basis.

Yes good luck to Stefan - he never quite found a role though there was a time last season when he and McCann did form a very effective central midfield partnership with McCann and as a player I liked him. Thanks for the memories.

Now what this means in the immediate term is that we are short of any real creative passing ability from deep central midfield - Whiteman tries and occasionally achieves that, McCann is a hassler and Thompson really just a back-up for Whiteman's role as a ball-winner. Frankly getting some creativity into that part of the team is now arguably our most pressing requirement though we do need another mobile defender - increasingly I think one who is right-sided since we have both Gibson and Hughes for the left - and ideally another attacker though we are not actually short of bodies in that part of the team.

The return of Armstrong would go a long way to solving that issue but even if it happens it seems it is not likely to be before the end of the month which is four matches away three of them against opposition in and around the play-off places. How we cope over these next few weeks may well prove crucial to where we find ourselves at the end of the season.
