Almost worked out and certainly agree with most that he deserves to go with our best wishes.
No - I see him as a more advanced player effectively part of a front three with the other two being ideally Dobbin and Osmajic. But that trio needs to operate from a foundation provided by an effective central midfield partnership which for most of this season has been provided by Whiteman and Armstrong. Maybe that duo will be renewed but right now we need an effective alternative and the best that I can see is Whiteman and McCann.
He always played better when whiteman was out. They just couldn't play together

In hindsight, writing was probably on the wall for him when we brought in Thompson. 3rd choice for one role meant his opportunities were going to be very limited.
Flashed a lot upside, but at 27 years old, not likely someone who was going to improve too much. Too lightweight to be anything more than a player who looked good at times.

I think it’s promising we are looking at offloading players like Thordarsson when we can, shows a big step up in squad depth I think, and a great opportunity to pull the ladder up from below and keep on improving in the department with any replacements.
Last year we were moving on Ledson and Holmes for example.
In terms of Thor himself, he was alright, had a few decent moments, do not think he’ll be missed personally, but that maybe due to the rose tinted goggles I have on in regards to the current batch of loanees, who have been fantastic.

The real clarity over this move will arrive in the summer (imo) when as said above, we lose Dobbin, Devine (probably) and Mads (possibly).
The question is this - Which players replace all 4 and will they have similar quality (Devine, Dobbin) or better quality (Mads, Thor)?
Gonna cost money and we haven't even touched upon the striker situation.
On the plus side, the Keeper / Defence is all sorted.
Going to be a very expensive summer (Players / Pitch) for our wonderful owners.
