Rovers have had a pretty good record with buying strikers, let's hope they're due an "Okkles".Gonna be funny watching our fans have a meltdown every time he scores this season.

Sasha Tavolieri (sp?) is 100% legit - if he says it’s happening, it’s happening (barring medical finding issues)
That bit of info wasn’t up when I looked but they are also saying that’s a good source and probably happening now.
Although questioning about his record and why they are selling him.
Son of a famous footballer seems to be a common theme these days…..Delap etc etc

If he turns out to be a Delap, Danns, Koumas, Stansfield level player, then for the sake £1m-2m, we have truly fucked up.That bit of info wasn’t up when I looked but they are also saying that’s a good source and probably happening now.

Well a couple of posts above say otherwise. This forum hasn’t either.
Disappointing.
t
Exactly this. To add to this, I think I recall reading that AN didn’t want the player as we were well stocked in that department, so Baylis was up against it from the word go. The club just smelt a profit and in fairness Cov fans thought we’d bagged a future England player for a relatively small fee.The Bayliss signing made sense. Young, huge potential, performing in the league below. Type of signing we’d seen other clubs doing and wanted North End to do.
Problem was he either wasn’t scouted properly or just wasn’t up to it. It made far less sense than the Okkels one IMO
Nixon has a story on us tomorrow but it could be we’ve been lumped into the Plastics-Guðjohnsen story.
Feel like he hasn't been very accurate lately

Talking to a couple of long term Everton ST holders last night. General fans feeling is Armstrong should stay, but the strong rumour is a loan till January.

Seemed pretty spot-on here:Feel like he hasn't been very accurate lately
"Blackburn Rovers are making a shock late move for Gent’s Icelandic striker Andri Gudjohnsen.
"The forward has been chased by Preston for weeks but they failed to come up with the cash."

Until recently.Rovers have had a pretty good record with buying strikers, let's hope they're due an "Okkles".
This guy - Arnor Sigurdsson: Blackburn Rovers sign Iceland forward on permanent deal they have just cancelled his contract.
Then they have gueye who scored 6 goals last season.
The Japanese striker looks the best but he only managed 9 goals.
Point being - when they sign strikers from
Abroad they usually turn out to be duds.

I don't think he will. He looked like he'd be useful where he could improve some, but not one I thought looked to have a high potential. If he turns out to be a Delap, Danns, Koumas, Stansfield level player, then for the sake £1m-2m, we have truly fucked up.
More of a it's a cheaper option in an inflated market so was probably worth a punt. Cissé who went to Stoke is one I would've much preferred as I thought he'd go for a bit more than he did and he can play all over.

Yeah, I read the "till January" part somewhere too - apparently because they'll need Armstrong back as cover for players going to the Africa Cup of Nations.Talking to a couple of long term Everton ST holders last night. This is also what I've been told - loan lined up for him, as of yesterday still waiting on Everton to decide (from a very good source)Yeah, I read the "till January" part somewhere too - apparently because they'll need Armstrong back as cover for players going to the Africa Cup of Nations.
If it happens then likely to be until January but pushing for a season long loan ideally. All depends on what they get in.

Also im not aware anyone has mentioned on here that hes already done an ACL. It was c.5yrs ago & hes recovered well and not to write him off per se. Just highlights there is risk all round with signings. If we've not committed to it, then we've just got to accept its for good reason. He'll probably scored a hat trick against us now....Got to be honest, ive never commented on Gudjohnson much at all because I wasn't excited. Couldn't help but feel Gent really wanted rid and also was worried he maybe have a career because of his Dad. Just a feeling I had.

Oh yeah, I’m not saying definitely he points towards that level.I don't think he will. He looked like he'd be useful where he could improve some, but not one I thought looked to have a high potential.
More of a it's a cheaper option in an inflated market so was probably worth a punt. Cissé who went to Stoke is one I would've much preferred as I thought he'd go for a bit more than he did and he can play all over.
More a point that just because he’s the son of a former player, doesn’t mean he should be dismissed.
I think nepotism in the game only takes you so far these days.

We have.If he turns out to be a Delap, Danns, Koumas, Stansfield level player, then for the sake £1m-2m, we have truly fucked up.
However he could also could turn out to be a dud like
Okkles.
He might be great but there is a reason gent want rid after a season. Only time will tell and I’m sure people will bring it up every time he scores.
If we have someone else lined up then it will all
Be forgotten.
Any idea if it will be a permanent deal for this player from Europe?
