We spent just short of £1m on agent fees alone between February 24 - Feb 25 which was the 5th lowest in the division. We only made 3 permanent signings during that period and they included transfer fees.

We've made 8 permanent signings since then. So yeah, we've probably spent a fair bit on agent fees and signing on fees.

Worth remembering players wages.

If we have 25 players on an average of just under £10k per week each, that would equal £500k * 25 = £12.5 Million.

Wages are just as big a part as transfer fees, signing on fees and agent fees

Both he and Whiteman want to sit deep, get the ball and distribute it. Browne is much closer to McCann in that he wants to run around a lot, get into tackles and go box to box. In that, he's a poorer tackler than Ali, but more effective going forward.

He hasn't got the accuracy of passing or the range to do the Thor/Whiteman job here.

How many years back are you going with that analogy he definitely regressed in the running forward and being a box to box player and now he’s a year older and with not that many games under his belt . Sorry but he is not the player he once was .

FFP headroom is one thing - it's a bigger, empty wallet - but I don't think Ridsdale has said anywhere there would be more actual money to spend.

When asked, he has reiterated we have a bottom-4 budget, set by the Isle of Man, and has emphasised the one-out/one-in aspect of our transfer policy.

You don't need to apologise to me, I don't think we should be resigning him, and I'm comparing him to McCann...
 
I don’t know why people get so upset about what team Browne joins. If it was Blackpool it would be different but if he wants to join Blackburn then fair play.

In the past nugent went to Burnley and Cunningham to Blackburn. It happens we move on.

And no I don’t want him back here. Devine is twice the player Browne is. He chose to leave that’s on him.

Given the teams who have come up this season, I wouldn't be surprised to see our budget as the second lowest in the division, after Oxford. Probably close between us and Pompey.

Sheff Wed must be rock bottom now. I reckon we'll have the highest out of those 3 teams, Blackburn must be similar too? If not less. Charlton won't pay good wages either.

We're certainly bottom 6 in terms of budget.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but fairly certain Blackburn operate on a bigger budget than us. Sure the Venky's are putting significantly more in per season. Though not sure what their current situation is with the Indian government stopping them and they did get a large fee for Wharton.

As would I, JK. He isn't likely to do much better at this stage of his career though and it is another North West side. Baradji, Tronstad and Browne would be a very handy midfield at this level.

They are also favourites to land Gudjohnsen. I thought Venky's don't spend any money?

They pay a million a year for the academy, but playing budget wise they seem to be cutting back a lot these days. Lost loads of key players.

Their wage budget is bigger - theirs is "bottom 10" while ours is "bottom 4".

It doesn't necessarily translate to the Venkys putting in more money every year, because they do sometimes make large transfer profits.
