Summer 2026 - Transfer Rumours and Discussions.

Summer 2026 - Transfer Rumours and Discussions.

Out of that LEP freebie list. Ryan Hedges reeks of PNE, injured and I think Heckingbottom signed him for Barnsley.

Other shit ones that look up our street are Mark Sykes, Jamie Allen, Wes Burns, Max Lowe, and Ross Stewart.

Two realistic ones I'd be ok with are Zak Swanson and Sam Silvera.

Seeing as the Winter Window thread is now closed, might as well start up the summer thread.

So we know that OoC we have the following.

Cornell
Pradic
Brady
Hughes
Mawene
Lewis.

All 6 can leave with thanks for myself. Hughes is a difficult call but based upon his age, then sadly, the correct call is a sad goodbye as a 1st team player. I wouldn't be upset with a new 1 year deal as a back up as we need a younger 1st choice player.

The Loans will all be most likely returning to their parent clubs with only one having a possibility of returning (Devine).

So it is goodbye with massive thanks to

Devine, Dobbin, Jebbison and Lukovic.

Then we have a batch of players whom I don't feel are good enough / on the slide who should be moved on.

Potts - 1 Year left.
Lindsay - 1 Year left.
Walton - 2 Years left.
Thompson - 1 Year left (+1)
Smith. - 1 Year left.

Which leaves us with a core of 14 players.

Iversen
Storey
Gibson
Offiah
Valentin
Vukcevic
Small
Whiteman
McCann
Osmajic
Moran
Lang
Nelson

It is once again going to be a big big summer of change on the pitch that we absolutely have to get right.

I would like to think that if new ownership arrives, that we extend our scouting into Spain, Portugal, Central and Eastern Europe where there will no doubt be some hidden gems in the 2nd divisions of Spain, Germany, Italy, etc.

Thoughts?
Also South East Asia

Might as well try and get KKH back on loan if it's another year of 5-3-2, maybe insert one of our pointless options. He won't play a single minute in the Prem, nowhere near good enough.
Yeah, I've said this to a few mates. Him and Pol as options on the right, Small and Vukcevic on the left. Sets us up pretty nicely.

Also not arsed what the 'never go back!' crew think - I'd definitely be trying to get Alan Browne back in summer. We're probably a body short in there as it is now, and with Devine, Brady, and (hopefully) Potts not around next season, he'd be a good option for one of those #8 slots.

Wes Burns is alright isn't he? Big part of Ipswich going up two years ago. The did his ACL a few games into the prem. Not sure how he's looked this season but he still plays for Ipswich.

Ross Stewart would be a gamble but again was scoring for Southampton a few weeks back. Lots of injuries though in last three years.

Now our season is effectively over we get to one of my favourite pastimes when I'm bored. Looking around the European leagues for unknowns and potential bargains (mostly for my own use in Football Manager). Here's a list that I've compiled.

Adrian Svanback 🇫🇮, FW, BK Häcken
Ivan Zhelizko 🇺🇦, CM, Lechia Gdańsk
Kota Tawaratsumida 🇯🇵, LW, FC Tokyo
Lars Gindorf 🇩🇪, AM, Alemannia Aachen (on loan from Hannover 96)
Lūkass Vapne 🇱🇻, CM, IF Sogndal
Mathias Christensen 🇳🇴, CM, Aalesunds FL
Otto Ruoppi 🇫🇮, AM, KuPS (Recently bought and loaned back by Mainz 05)
Patrick Hellebrand 🇨🇿, DM, Górnik Zabrze
Robbie Ure 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿, ST, Sirius IK
Sem Scheperman 🇳🇱, DM, Heracles Almelo
Ville Koski 🇫🇮, CB, Deportivo Alaves (on loan from NK Istra)
Viktor Djukanovic 🇲🇪, LW, DAC 1904 (on loan from Hammarby IF)
Jonas Therkelsen 🇳🇴, AM, Holstein Kiel

I've watched most of these play, mostly in internationals and some in person whilst in Germany and Holland. I'd consider them all fairly realistic for PNE aside from Robbie Ure who has had a lot of press over here recently. I'll take a job in scouting if you're reading Peter 👍🏻

Dependant on the summer budget i wonder if a permanent move could be negotiated.

Once Coventry go up they will sign players from all over Europe just like what Sunderland have done.

He's not even first choice LB or RB for Coventry so he's got no chance of playing in the prem.

He is 31 next month.
We should have kept him two years ago by sacking Lowe.
Now I would much rather go for someone younger with a potential to sell on.
If we want to improve as a club we don’t need players for the here and now we need players tk potentially sell on and make us money.
