Seen a few turn their nose up at Ogbene and again as I said with Hirst, I really don’t think we can be turning our nose up at him either.

He’d certainly be a starter in our squad and like it or not he’s also versatile to play RWB or RW.

Was a very good player before his injury, big part of Luton's rise.

Struggled at Ipswich and Sheffield United after returning so guess that is the issue if he's lost a yard of pace.

Like I said previously. They tried to get him last season, he was at their training ground and then another team (presumably Boro) came in and off he went there.
Sadly, he wouldn’t think twice about going there but why should he not really? As much as we all like to think it was solely down to Lowe as to why he left ( played a huge part) he had his own reasons for leaving… wanted the best opportunity at a chance at the Prem. He knew full well had he signed a new deal that he would outlast Lowe. Point being, he’s not wedded to us. Will take what he can.

To announce to the supporters that Dai Cornell had moved on.

Im guessing it must have been part of the NDA thats caused all the Radio Silence.

Anyway, Dai, good luck in wherever your career takes you next.

Last mention of Dai was when the retained list came out in May, PNE said they were in talks with him. Presume he got a better offer elsewhere? It’s been radio silence all summer, couple of half-arsed Hecky interviews after games and the Whiteman interview which in light of recent events will quietly be binned.

Could we not tempt Browne with a Baluga loyalty card?

1 would be a good start. Anything more than 3 and I’ll be pleasantly surprised.

As I keep stressing four of the players who have left the club since the end of last season effectively contributed nothing to the team over the course of that campaign - Brady, Lewis, Lukovic, Smith though in fairness I will concede that the latter at least put some effort in. What that means is that though we are currently in numerical terms five players short of where we were at the end of last season six realistically if we assume Whiteman is as good as gone then we don't have to bring in another six players to get back to the level of resource we had then - another three singings of decent quality would actually give us a greater level of quality-in-depth than we had then given the return of Devine and Erabi hopefully giving us more than Smith did. So the situation is not quite as bleak as it might see at first glance.

That doesn't mean three would suffice - we do need five or even six more signings before the window closes a figure that could rise if there were more departures. As for departures I certainly do not want either McCann or Osmajic to leave though a silly money offer for McCann would be tempting provided it was immediately reinvested and I would want Osmajic to sign a new deal that means we would not lose him for nothing in 12 months. But if any lower league clubs decided any of Potts, Hughes, Thompson or Lindsay would give something useful I would not turn down any offers - frankly even if we had to pay a portion of their wages elsewhere for a season so that the equation became one-in for two-out.

Something that is is worth saying about Lindsay is that when he captained the team at the back end of last season he actually showed some of the leadership quality that Whiteman lacks. On that count he doesn't deserve some of the stick he gets here and could perhaps be a selling point to, say, a Div1 team looking for a leader.

Still another month till the window closes. It is quite possible that half of the outfield players we may put out for a match as early as September may not even have signed for us yet.
