We absolutely need one more winger along with Mills, even if he has to wait until Jan. At least one more striker to replace Osmajic, but likely 2, along with one more CM.

Then everything else is improvements, which could be requested just about everywhere other than number 10.

I worry that they might demand outbounds to facilitate the upgrades required in defence though.

I think one of our biggest problems is McCann. Last year when we had two midfielders who could pass a ball (Whiteman and Armstrong) we could pass through teams and carry the ball forward. It would be interesting to see the win percentage of when we play with and without McCann. I’d be actively trying to sell him this week, teams know just to let him and the two centre halves have the ball as they are guaranteed to lose it

Whenever Browne played for us in front of the defence, he was absolutely atrocious. Kept moving into other players space too. That’s about the only position he couldn’t “fill in” on. Think he’s a very decent player, but wasn’t bothered when he left and not excited if he comes back. If he does, I’d put him on the right of midfield in a Sedge type role.

Did think it was odd they announced the vice captain too, didn't think they normally do that unless I've missed it before.

Might suggest McCann isn't undropable hopefully.

Actively try and sell a player who has just been made club captain.

I think we saw Leroy in a deeper role.

That being said, I’ve mentioned it prior that we need a proper “6” and have Leroy more advanced, but clearly not thought to be the case.

Perhaps the speed that deal has seemingly moved at is what’s allowed the Browne deal to progress so quickly and catch the likes of Nixon off guard.

They don’t seem to be like for like in style of play, Ahoka seems more of a CDM rather than BBM but it’s a body in midfield that surely leaves Browne even more surplus to requirements than he already was
 
17 first team pros on the books now, plus Lindsay, Pol and Potts. Threadbare.

I feel fairly confident we will get a new CB, a ST, a winger and it seems as though Browne is imminent too, which would take us up to 21 (24 with Lindsay, Pol and Potts).

There's absolutely no way I can include Lindsay as the Gibson cover option, or Pol at RB, so Hughes is covering 2 positions. I think that squad on paper is more than capable of doing alright this season, assuming the quality is sufficient on the incomings.. the CB is vital, and we need to offload Pol & Lindsay as soon as possible too.

If it is true that Lindsay is on a high salary it makes it more difficult to offload him as no other championship club would touch him
 
Hopefully, this takeover will happen relatively soon, and surely we don’t want to be filling the squad with players who will just about keep us in the division. We need to be bringing in better quality players who will get us into the top eight as a minimum. Some of the names being mentioned now are making me fucking cringe!
We don’t need any more of our own players unless they add the required quality. We need 5 top class loan players (yes I know we’ve already got Burgzorg, but he’d have to sit in the stands or go back to Boro as far as I’m concerned). The reason we need loan players more than ever imho is so that when Zedan or whoever takes over, they aren’t lumbered with any more 💩players than they need to be.
To bring in players now on permanent deals that aren’t good enough to get us into the top eight, would put us back a couple of seasons. We have difficulty in shifting the 💩we already have without adding to the problem. We need a minimum of 4 quality loan players in before this window ends, but if I’m honest, I just can’t see it happening.
