Matchday Thread Sunderland v PNE - 1/1/24 - KO:12:30pm - Championship

He really has. And you're wearing blinkers if you think otherwise.

Kian will get better with games. Let him have them somewhere he's not a bomb scare for us.

If you don't think a run of 15 starts at a lower level won't help him infinitely more than watching this tripe from the bench, then I don't think there's any helping you.

You've answered your own question.

Aye just a fan like the rest of us always liked Dave Seddon. 6K plus for a 5.30pm is some support after the bullshit and results performances for weeks.
It's an astonishing turnout and shows just what could be achieved quickly by getting a manger who actually has ideas to get the best out of a talented squad, thinks about what he says and cuts out the BS. For Lowe to say he doesn't care about this game when 6,000 are making a hugely expensive and logistically challenging trip is just insulting. Craig and Peter - just do the right thing and get this shallow, selfish, indifferent individual out of our club.

The fuck are you on about? McCann got shoulder dropped into next week and they scored from 35 yards. Then a Jack Clarke counterattack where again McCann got mugged off and Lindsay was wrong side of his man.

How would replacing Hughes with Best have helped there?

Don't answer. It's not going to be worth reading.
Yes you obviously not worth my oxygen

Stick with what we have , enjoy relegation battle 👏👏👏

No Plan B, though it could be said we don't have a Plan A, in patches I thought we did OK, but for once I agree with Lowe like many of those in the Gods, we knew we had lost by half time.
Finally if you do go to the SOL please note they confiscate your loose change bit naughty, times up Ryan, one other thing our build up play is so painfully slow

Just on your half time point….surely after being 2-0 down, creating virtually nothing and being on the run that we are on you must make at least a triple change at half time?

Think you have misunderstood. I didn't say Ched was effective, or suggested he would have been. Just moreover I don't think the sudden difference was down to two strikers on the pitch, but for me impacted by Browne moving back into the middle.
Ah, fair enough, yeah it was down to a couple of things, you're right.

That statement he made about lacking in quality, consistency shows he does not have the belief in his squad

Mads had two clear cut chances for his quality and ability and they went over.”
Mads should have done better but he's not had much game time and will be game rusty. There must be something to why Ryan hasn't been playing him.

Not seen the other interviews but his post match interview on pnefc.com was fair. He apologized to the fans who made the trip. He said 2nd half we huffed and puffed. He said the 'sword lies with me, I'm the manager but individually and collectively we need to take responsibility'. He said it's frustrating win one, draw one, lose two.

I can see the board not liking the lacking quality comments especially if they feel they backed the manager with the new signings.

just read his comments - how can you say about your players that they lack quality??? he fucking signed them - what a fucking idiot.

We lacked quality, invention, imagination, conviction, leadership.

To my eye effort and determination were there. (Huffing and puffing is a cliched but fair term). The ability to use these remotely effectively were not.

Lowe pretty much said the above in his pnefc.com interview.

It's not just win one, draw one, lose two though is it? Our form has been much more horrendous than those misleading choice of 'facts'.

If he and those upstairs are in concurrence that's a fair representation then we really are in the shit going forward.

It wasn't individual player quality we lacked today - it was commitment, energy and invention.
It looked today like his previous comments about the lack of individual player quality had taken its toll and were probably the reason there wasn’t any commitment, energy or invention today.
