Team for “Careful what you wish for” FC in t’Cup

I don't know if people are saying we should throw the game. More so they'd rather we play a heavily rotated team and then not bothered if we lose, which I agree with.

I'm going on the game, but I'm hoping to see a weakened side, and it'd be even better if we beat them with that team. Usual starters can be on the bench to bring on 65-75 mins.

Priority for me has to be whoever needs minutes, and resting anyone who needs a break.

Basically, let the medical staff pick the team.

When it comes to Friday night, of course I will want us to win but I don’t mind if we go with a weak team and lose , I will soon get over it…..

What we don’t want, is to get any serious injuries to our key players and Friday nights pitch won’t help…..

You’re forgetting the tent. Pitch should be good as new by Friday.

Not sure if there’s anything to take from Kitt Nelson being involved in training?

Wonder if Ryan Lowe will play a weakened side, he used to do when manager here in cup matches. We should give the ones who haven't featured much this season game time and those just back from injuries to get their match fitness back

No chance.

He will want to win this more than any game so far this season.

He will do everything in his power to make it all about him and thankfully that will only help us and not Wigan.

I don't think Lowe can politically get away with his favourite putting 11 men behind the ball and playing for set pieces, after their showing at Cardiff.

I'd play Mads and Osmajic up top.

Never stopped him at North End.

Playing Whatmough in midfield and playing for a draw at Watford still irritates me.

Walton will come in for Iversen, Lindsay will start, small for lewis. Smith up top with jebbison, Frokjaer, whiteman, McCann in midfield will
I suspect Whiteman will be rested and it gives the manager the chance to see how we will cope if he is suspended or injured.
Will Keane play? Puts him in the shop window but risks him getting injured.

You’ll not find me saying a positive word about Lowe, but to be fair, Whatmough was only there out of necessity.

But you’re right, didn’t stop him at North End. Let’s see!

If we have our best team out then we should win. Anything less gives them a chance of an upset. How many teams have been eliminated by putting reserve players in, like Liverpool did at Plymouth last season.

I'm usually all for putting out a strong side in the third round in the hope of having a decent run in the competition but this season, we are in the mix for top six so why risk Injury to key players?
Some have stated there's a week to recover but nowadays, how many injuries are shaken off that quickly?
Not many at all.
I think a second string with a sprinkling of first choice players should still be enough.

Hopefully 🙏
