Team v Will Still’s (?) Saints

Team v Will Still’s (?) Saints

Would take then a couple of months to get match fit especially with our reluctance to use them in the reserves. Plus I think anyone still out of contract wouldn’t be up to the standard required

Yes that is probably the case - I was really just flying a kite. So it looks like we will have to get through another batch of three matches at least this time in eight days rather than just seven with a much reduced squad with just fourteen senior outfield players available unless maybe Vukcevic's injury is not as bad as it first seemed.

These injuries mounting up are a reason we need a squad of players all capable of being in the first 11 so you can rotate and not over work players causing injuries.

What I don't like is the strain on fitness & disruption of regularity, that's the result of a 3 games inside a 7 day period , following a break because of international duty. I'm aware it's the same for every team - but it can't be good.
For example, how's Osmajic supposed to get back into any kind of mindset, even putting that Hannibal b.s. to one side ?

Which isn't a bad side in itself and there is adequate back-up in central midfield and upfront but there is nothing in reserve in defence or out wide. Serious question are there any out-of-contract players out there who we could sign on a two-month deal to get us through to the New Year - I think we are allowed to do that.

I think Southampton got decimated with injuries yesterday too. It appears Charles, Azaz and Archer all went off with muscle issues + a red card for Welington.

As for us, depth is our downfall every year. Hoping Vukcevic was just cramp and Pol isn’t too far away.

Could also use that team in a 4-2-3-1.

Moving to a back four when losing Gibson IMO is a recipe for a disaster. Let’s assume everyone’s still out injured.

Still a strong team. Will be good to get even the likes of Thompson, Potts, and Brady back fit though. Really valuable options from the bench.

I would be surprised if we see Thompson, Potts and Brady this side of Christmas. All is very quiet on them except a picture of Thompson training. Wouldn’t surprise me if we don’t see Brady at all in a PNE shirt again it is like he doesn’t even exist at the moment with no word on him and how he is doing

If we need to could we use a youth team player at wing back? The ever elusive Pasiek or maybe Brindle or Snowball on the bench? Tarry? I'd hope PH is willing to put trust in the academy when it's needed.

Southampton are absolutely honking because their dressing room has zero respect for Still. You can see in his body language that he isn't a leader at such a competitive level because he doesn't have the confidence.

They've got some decent players but they aren't playing for him.

We should win but I'm not sure how much we've got in the tank for Southampton-Swansea-Millwall in a week when we're threadbare.

I'd definitely target Southampton as the priority though, Swansea is 50/50 and we'll lose at Millwall.

As he showed last year he is willing to have them on the bench, he just doesn’t think they are ready for championship football as non got any minutes even if we were winning comfortably. Those who watch and follow the youth team more will be better answering but from the outside it looks like the youth team to first team jump is massive currently and the standard of clubs they sign for after leaving us shows most aren’t even league 1 or 2 standard sadly

From the list this has us written all over it as a new driver is required!

Don’t see an awful lot of the youth team but going back a few years I remember thinking that Jamie Proctor was an outstanding prospect.
Didn’t particularly shine at first team level which as you say is a leap in quality.

Never been a better time to play this lot.

Won once in the last ten and looks like a manager on his way out, getting absolutely nothing from his team.

St Mary’s will be toxic and full of moans and groans. Approach it like we did WBA and we should be beating them.

Just hoping he doesn't get potted this week.🙏
