The best keeper in the division!

The best keeper in the division!

Sadly for some of you lot Lonergan was not to blame today.

Don't talk like a Dick.

HE cant perform the basics, Its all well and good being a decent shit stopper if you have a bit of an allround game to fall back on, But he has fuck all. Unless there on top of him he is cluelss and shite. You cant even argue this and if you try it shows you as a complete idiot and a Lonners ream teamer!!

Spot on there about Lonergan Grimble. He is probably one of the best shot stoppers in the country but one of the worst at communication, controlling the back line and commanding his area where an awful lot of our problems stem from. People have to see this!
No hes not, virtually every professional keeper is a good shot stopper, thats the basics of being a keeper. Its the rest that is important, especially decision making, which in his case is consistently poor.

Fair enough, just checking.

1st goal - SSL should have never let it bounce and even then, had 4 options to clear to (Left , Right, AKS, Lonners)

2nd goal - A soft header, where was the marking?

3rd goal - Didn't see the attack as i was typing on the phone to FB saying that our season was over, I looked up to see Lonners save point blank a shot and the rebound was tucked away.

4th goal - A breakaway, the attacker had 2 clear options running wide of him, picks one out, he goes 1 v 1 and GOAL!

Thats how i saw it.

MoM for us - Ellington.

That's the way I saw it Jack, apart from the third obviously! You'll probably find it hard to believe but Brown's defending for the third was worse than golden boys for the first. Lonergan has made some mess ups this year but today was down to piss poor defending by experienced defenders. Incidentally, Phil Brown commented on the radio that a defender's job is to defend no matter what the score - I suspect he was referring to our captains forays upfield that left us so exposed down the left.

Don't talk like a Dick.

In all seriousness mate, why is he? Goalkeepers at League Two level don't fumble/drop every cross and/or get beaten from 25 yards on a regular basis like Lonergan does.

He has been our weakest link on the pitch for some considerable time, I find it utterly bizarre that people (and in particular managers) continue to defend the useless cunt.

So in your opinion, he was to blame for all four goals today?

See my post earlier in this thread.

Can't see how Lonners was to blame for any of the goals today.

It was the clowns in front of him that were the problem.

I didnt go on

So Voldemort without being there how can you comment on individual performance????

So Mark without being there how can you comment on individual performance????

Prick!

I'm just too clever for you Marko, and believe me it's not hard to catch a thick fucker like you out!

There are many stupid people on this message board, some of them were born that way and can't help it, you on the other hand wasn't, you're just plain stupid.

Now with regards to today's game I suggest you keep your thought's to yourself as being a 'part timer' you don't have a clue about the events at Deepdale today!

Not all 4.

Are you seriously trying to tell me that you honeslt hand on heart believe Lonners has not cost us more points than he has gained us this season.

Whydo people sem to think that if he wasnt to blame for the first and the second was a howler it does not matter as we was already one down. If you lot cant see that all that is acheived when he fucks up even when we are 1 down is that it invites more pressure onto us.

Seriously, were you there today? Your honestly sayin Lonergan was more at fault than ledger who mis judged the ball and allowed the striker a one on one, our forwards who missed easy chances, our defense who left people un marked in the box and wayne brown who had the ball and got dispossessed very easily?

And no pictures please try and convey your thoughts in writing.

We all know where your loyalties lie when it comes to Lonergan, and to be honest I have been harping on about replacing him since Nash left, but I find it hard to disagree with any of this.

Lonergan has cost us a number of times over the years, more than I care to remember, but to lay the blame at him for the defeat at Barnsley and today is fucking ridiculous. Yes he may have been better positioned for the first two, but if we had defenders who could actually do the basics then we wouldn't have conceded such soft goals.

Lonergan needs replacing, I won't argue there, but he was not the reason we lost today.

Because shouty people are just that - shouty (minus any rationale).

I'm not claiming Lonners to be our Saviour but he's not totally responsible for the goals conceded either. Ask yourself why he faces so many 1 v 1s during the game?

It's more or less the same thing Raefil but I put it down to an inability to read the game. People often talk about midfielders and defenders having a good understanding of the game and what is going on around them but goalkeepers are often excluded from such talk. A good keeper needs tobe able to anticipate what is about to happen and when, instead of constantly reacting to things that have already happened and (for me at least) that is not what he does.

When he comes for a cross early he nearly always gets it, the times when he doesn't get it are when he has waited a second or so before commiting himself - by then it is too late.

You have me wrong fella, my only loyalties are with my mates, family, 2 cats and PNEFC (the club).

I call it as i see it.

Today, we were relegated, simple as.

Lonners has had his moments this season but he's playing behind the worst team we've had since Les Chapman was in charge. If you want to single anybody out then it has to be St Ledger. He might as well have gone round each and every one of the 11,000 North End fans and spat in our face. Gives it the big one after each game, but as soon as someone offers him more money and the club don't sell he throws his toys out. Can't believe we didn't take the £2m from Ipswich. If we can agree now that they'll pay us that at the end of the season if he doesn't play again, I'll drive the lazy fucker down there myself.

Couldn't agree with this more. The Middlesbrough, Celtic and now latest transfer bid all back this up. I really can't wait to see the back of the posing, passionless, overpaid prima donna. In short - good riddance!

You missed the bit where I said I seen the first goal. I had seen enough at this point, He was to blame, No matter how much SSL misread the bounce the fact remains cunt chops should of been out for it.

You will always be an arse licker for Lonners as everytime this fucker is brought up you jump in and defend him.

And your not clevr either you little cretin, Selective quoting is easy to use when your trying to make someone look silly, I would do it back to you but I cant arsed entertaining a strange little moron like you. And after all, You do a great job of looking stupid just by trying to defend Lonners.

The absolute short sightedness of people to blame a goal keeper for every single goal conceded and defeat is honestly laughable.

The entire back 5, in my opinion have been at fault, even my PotY Billy Jones. However, the shite midfield have not helped them out either with a lack of added protection.

Disagree?
