anyway its a referee-ess not a referee
I didn’t hear a single sexist chant from my seat in the Town End. I heard the usual chants which a poor ref cops for but nothing else.
Problem is when a referee has a performance like that they create the dissent. There have been teams like 90’s Man United who used to hammer referees all the time but our players aren’t like that. That kind of dissent is embarrassing. Last nights was more frustration from professionals being let down by the ref.
I’m not sure she was the worst we’ve had but she’s up there. In all honesty she didn’t look physically able to keep up with the game.
Best regards,
Joey Barton

She's a Premier League ref, they always seem to be terrible for us.
One thing I did like, when they made their triple sub, she stopped the number 41 walking closer to the Finney and told him to start going to the bench before his number went up.
Just a shame she wasn't as strict with their keeper's time wasting

She did start of well, played a couple of good advantages, but went downhill after that.
She seemed to run away to the middle of the pitch with her back to their keeper who was taking forever, also had her back to Mads being blocked off (not the red card), yes, not helped by her linesman, but a very poor performance.

She not even national league level. I’ve seen better referees on a Sunday on Moor Park!No place for sexist chants for sure. If the ref is shite, as they almost always are at our level, call them shite - whether they’re a lad or a lass is irrelevant. It’s certainly not her fault she has been fast-tracked too quickly, and if any of us were in her shoes as that call came in, I doubt we’d have said no either.
Props to her for stepping up, but she’s evidently nowhere near the level yet.
A lot of the yellow cards were for fouls that the recipient player had committed years ago and completely forgot about!🤪

I also think Potts had a very decent shout for a penalty on the Finney side 2nd half.As poor as she was, the liner on the Finney side was worse. Missed at least three clear offsides, Potts’ being poleaxed and not helping at all when Mads was fouled and the ref had her back turned. Wasn’t keen to give throw ins too given the regular shouts from the Kop and Town End!
One thing I did admire though was her ability to deal with dissent. If more were like her, it would be eradicated from the game quickly… that said, we got three bookings this way as a result of her mistakes!

She told that player to go off on the side of the Finney and he just ignored her and took the piss out of her. She should have booked himShe's a Premier League ref, they always seem to be terrible for us.

When the winning team are also hammering the ref we can’t all be wrong.
I generally think that female refs maybe good for the game especially in the Premier League where teams have a tactic of hounding the ref on most decisions. Perhaps this will lessen with female refs? However the one we had yesterday was bloody rubbish she could hardly keep up with play and seemed on willing to ref the game from small central area of the pitch often distant from the action.

While their goalie was taking the c.25 seconds to run up to the ball at a goal kick, the ref was leisurely walking towards our 18 yard box with her back to play. I thought they were sposed to be watching all the situations, so walked backwards. This meant when she turned round she was catching up with play.

The ref is copping a lot of stick for last night, but I think it’s worth saying how poor the assistants were in helping her.
In a situation like last night, the rookie ref could really do with 2 experienced, assertive liners to help her through it.
The two linesmen were neither use nor ornament at times.

That is disgraceful if true…..Yes some odd decisions but some people are fixated by gender. Disgusted also by sexist chants.
the same linesman also missed a clear pull on Potts in the 2nd half for a clear penalty, the ref was useless but she wasnt helped by the incompetent linesman. There were too many missed fouls and corners and goal kicks given the wrong way.Unsure how I post a picture but there is a clear shirt pull on Lindsay in the build up to the goal which stops Lindsay going to where the ball is going towards, off the ball certainly one for the linesman for me as tbf to referee it is off the ball.
I think the FA need to start publishing the referees assessors reports to make their decisions and reviews more visible, as it is, everyone can get criticism except the officials no matter how bad they perform

Cheat-ess

They are actually supposed to be assistant referees these days, which I suppose makes it worse their lack of assistance.
