Yes some odd decisions but some people are fixated by gender. Disgusted also by sexist chants.
I agree, but some are fixated the opposite way with positive discrimination. In this case I've no idea tbh but I hope it wasn't senior people pushing for her to be put in charge of big games before she was ready.

By way of example, I'm thinking of the recent RAF scandal.

She will need a thick skin. She may be good 9 times out of 10 but the time she isn’t she will have to cope with the token woman and other smart comments. It may well be that she is not up to the job full stop in which case she should disappear like any other ref but a lot of officials have bad games. Will be more difficult for her when it happens to her.

Theres absolutely no reason why a woman cant referee a mans game any less efficiently than a man officiating a womens game. Its not feckin rocket science and shouldn't attract the attention it does. But it does. Some will argue she was crap. Others will observe once we struggled to do anything constructive, undue pressure was exerted to influence her decision making. The Sky commentators were biased against her from the off, although they would be too dim to realise what they were doing. Many times they were mistaken when she was correct but they'd already made up their minds. She didnt have the best game, but by god our players were shite and they should have concentrated on playing professional football rather than trying to influence the official.

For the record, I watched her ref Fulham the other day and it was fine. The WSL is patchy, as is the Premier League, but the refs tend to be less whistlr happy and allow tackling which is a big plus. Really not a big issue. Blokes need to grow up. .

I agree, there’s no reason why a woman couldn’t be a ref. Read my post again, I didn’t say there was.

I don’t think it’s a “token woman” thing, but there is positive discrimination which is supposedly illegal.
Imo, the best people to do the job should do it, irrespective of sex, colour, race, religion or sexual orientation. I do wonder though about arbitrary quotas being set.

She needs a run of games before she can be properly judged..

No better, no worse than a fair few refs weve had these past few seasons.
I agree. She seemingly got the red card spot on, all the bookings we received were justified and the only one she should have booked from them was Bannan - but many referees fail to book players when they’ve played advantage. I’ve seen her criticised for blowing up too quickly but I thought she tried to play the advantage a lot, especially in the first half.

I criticised her for not cracking down on their goalkeeper, both with ball in hand and at restarts, but that criticism can be aimed at virtually every referee. If I were to be allowed to reinforce one law, it would be cracking down on goalkeepers holding the ball for more than 6 seconds and do what the laws say ie award an indirect free kick.

Surprised no one has started a thread about her. Probably the worst refereeing performance at deepdale I’ve ever seen and there has been some horrific ones.

She never kept up with play, had her back turned to play and seemed like she felt dishing out yellow cards would help her control the game.

It’s quite clear she only got to manage a prem game because it was a box ticking exercise by the FA. She’s nowhere near good enough.
she aint as bad as Booby Madley..... and was quite good when she reffed us at Birmingham last year.

Just had a bad night last night and followed the directive of yellows for dissent rather than for fouls which all the officials missed.

Positive action is legal ie allow additional help to be provided for groups with a protected characteristic such as sex or race.
