We have become a very dull football club

We have become a very dull football club

That was as bad as a match experience as I can ever remember yesterday.

Half arsed players with little talent- they need to understand they just aren’t that good- a tannoy system that is way too loud, no entertainment before the game , during or at half time

The repeated Blackpool songs from the town end , now also Interrupted with Burnley and Blackburn songs- can the drummer please be banned from the ground.

Apathy is running from top to bottom and the club stinks of it.

I have started planning things away on match days because it’s shit. I won’t be renewing next season.

The whole experience is shocking. The last 8 months of Lowe sucked the life out of the place. We’ve been in relegation form for nearly 12 months now after the freak start of last season.

There is nothing to buy in to. No Brighton way of player trading, no prospects coming through the academy, no direction or plan that makes you think we are going places

Let’s be honest we are miles off the top 6, we have players who have been here way too long and simply not good enough. They need to leave but 60% of the squad know they will be off. Are they going to run through a brick wall for the club? No chance.

The club is just stagnant and until we either get a new way of working with new ideas we are only going one way and that’s down.

Lots of great views on the current situation but the elephant in the room is, who is going to do something about it.
The Leeds game is a golden opportunity to make feelings known and I am sure they would be happy to assist 😀
Why do anything about it?

Let the Isle of Man own the apathy, let them reduce the budget, let the club slide meekly into relegation without a whimper, and let Ridsdale explain in his post-season Club Sermon how everything is going to plan, it's just the injuries and those mean old refs.

What's the point in Ridsdale leaving? That would be a mirror image of Lowe leaving - incompetently building an absolute disaster then buggering off rather than face the consequences, so he can prophesise from afar "see? they were doing fine until I left". Fuck that. Ridsdale needs to be held accountable for the mess, and that means he has to stay in post while the ship goes down.

The only way the club will change is with a change of division. Luckily, the division we are in isn't decided by what we say on here, or what Ridsdale says in his sermons, it's determined by how shit we are at football, and right now we're very shit.

To be honest I wish I was able to attend Home games because I wouldn’t be long snuggling a sign or banner that says RIDSDALE OUT!, it only takes one person to start something, once one person starts people follow, this man and the board need to know our feelings on the current situation.

Or stage a massive Boycott and have no fans in the stadium at all.

Spot on. With regards to the pa system, it doesn't actually work properly as the speakers on the Finney stand are buggered - all we tend to hear is muffled noise. Even the speakers on the concourse are fucked.
That coupled with the general state of the stadium and a shit club shop also adds to the general depressing experience.

So the latest insult to the supporters is the refusal to publish the response to the question 'Do you think Peter Ridsdale is doing a good job?'. Lets face it, it's sad and pathetic. Ever since Trevor Hemmings shafted us with his cheap buyout and his mythical Premier League ambitions, followed by the subsequent Ingol debacle we've been treated with utter contempt by these people and it's surely time we fought back? No more patronising BS from Ridsdale and Hemmings, we need to make life uncomfortable for them. Personally I'm too old to orchestrate such a thing but shouldn't we be organising a meeting somewhere through social media (possibly this forum), so that we can discuss ideas and maybe appoint a steering committee? How else are all the folk on here who are just as bloody angry as I am supposed to communicate with each other? I for one woold be there in a shot. It's time to pull together and make our feelings VERY PUBLIC.

We were taking about this. It's magnolia football. Vanilla football.

It's all about the data. Whatever looks best on the post match spreadsheet analysis. But, wow, is it tedious ponderous turgid garbage.

Whatever happened to players with passion who were their heart in their sleeve? Cantona. Worthington. Gregan. Players who were brave enough to try something. Even players like Ruddock would liven up the spectacle.

We only have Mads. Then who? And our esteemed managers only start him every so often. Madness. (Madsness even) Mads is our only player worth paying to watch!

How much are your seriously prepared to pay again to watch Whiteman bump his pass completion stats up with another flurry of sideways and backwards passes?

And we've just splashed over £3 million on players who are even more magnolia than the was ones we've already got. They can't even get a start.

It goes beyond North End too.

How many players in the Championship can you recall or revere? Where have the characters gone?

Everyone is just a pale vanilla version of everyone else.

Same faceless fearful anonymous players. Same pointless own-half possession-based back passing. Same points in the league. Everyone.

Football has forgotten it's supposed to be an entertainment. We want to see passion from brave heroes who want to win at all costs. That's the whole point. Not a 0.25 xG increment. (For clarity, I'd take 0.25 right now)

From the moment we forced entry into the stadium through non-working turnstiles, tried to buy over priced drinks from another batch of staff in insufficient numbers to cope, tried to make out what the announcer was saying ... it was atrocious. The football was even worse.

Yesterday was offensively shit. It was insulting.

Both teams offered nothing. A festival of painful indifference. Why would anyone pay to watch that garbage?

It's been this way for 5 years. Maybe longer.

Hecky is morphing into every other manager: Lifts the mood. Then regresses into safety first tedium. Grow some Hecky.

I still believe he's better than that. And the January transfer window must help him. Ridsdale, however, is beyond help.

This sums up everything.

The repeated Blackpool songs from the town end , now also Interrupted with Burnley and Blackburn songs- can the drummer please be banned from the ground.

I've heard the Youl Mawene and David Nugent chants at two away games (Chelsea and Portsmouth) in the last 12 months, when I hadn't heard them for years.

It's so tedious for supporters they're singing about players from two decades ago.

Tbf I stopped going a few games ago. It's boring, it's flat. Club didn't just need a change of manager , it needed a change of ownership and direction.

I tried with a "Ridsdale out " chant yesterday.
Only 1 other person a few rows down from me joined in.
Just watching him sat in the directors box in the Finney an completely getting away without any stick, had me fuming.

Apathy is worse than anger.

It has dripped down from the ownership downwards.

All the fans groups wrote to the owners 2 years ago with our concerns.

These got rebuffed.

They don't think anyone else could do a better a job.

It's bloody depressing.

Something needs to happen in the stands….

We need to start to let the owners know how we feel..

Personally I find it a chore to go to home matches and as winter sets in I won’t bother going…

Something else the owners have neglected, the only non stitched pitch in the Premier League and Championship.

Ridsdale knowledgably advised us all a year ago that "just about every Premier League club" has a desso pitch, and "some clubs in the Championship will have it, particularly if they've been in the Premier League". He failed to mention they all have it, except for us.

Just like the academy dome, it's painted as if it's a luxury that only the Prem super-rich can enjoy:

PR: "it's aspirational. If we got to the Premier League, I think we'd do it anyway".

Ridsdale also informed us a few months ago it would cost £1m to install desso, and a further £500k for undersoil heating - and such a king's ransom for our pauperish owners means "we have plans, as soon as possible, and it’s probably going to be next summer now [...] we’ve only got so much money and I’m currently choosing to use that to strengthen the squad".

Do you want a desso pitch with undersoil heating or a Jeppe Okkels?

A reminder that, unlike Jeppe Okkels, the pitch is not FFP-relevant. The only thing holding back the investment - they've been kicking the desso can down the road since at least 2022 - is the tiny size of our Isle of Man budget.

We are built for League 1.

Was their an Elland Road campaign to actively remove the Limpet ? Or did he jump before he was pushed ?

If there was, it would take others on here, etc to make some sort of 'Action Group' on here to make connections with Leeds's original group.

( For all I know, it came down then to Boardroom vote(s).

Should feelers be put out to the LUFC fans groups , to find out how they prised him out ?

I drove past Bradford's ground on Thursday and as I did, I thought to myself that I could easily see us being like them in 3 years time. Big ground, cheap season tickets, mid table in the basement every year.

I think BCFC owners are probably v.happy with that Status Quo, living in the shadow of Elland Road.
