What's wrong tactically?

What's wrong tactically?

Also pisses me off how often our players don’t see an obvious quick one-two with the player that’s just passed to them.

One of the most basic moves in football, but the players’ movement and awareness of where their teams are is really poor.

Ironically, Mads was one of the few players who always looked to do this and play quickly, but everyone else seems to be on a completely different wavelength.
Yep different thread but if anybody was under rated it was Mads.
In fact every time something goes wrong in a Match now i go 'Oh for fuks sake Mads'
Much to my lads initial amusement - although its wearing thin 🙂.
At least he tried stuff and wasn't boring in his play - plus his stats in respect of work rate where far better than some acknowledge!

He certainly polarised opinion.
Some thought he could do no right whilst others held the view he could do wrong.
No doubt the truth lies somewhere in between.

In my experience, if enough people are asking questions then there’s usually something in it.

Only one tactic/mantra required.

As per our teammate Chris when I played for The Fighting Cock FC, and just as he was taking his last drag of a ciggie in the centre circle about to kick off... "Brains and feet lads, brains and feet".

my old Sunday league manager used to say, 'if in doubt and you can see the posts, twat the bugger' , usually because i was the only player not hungover and got stuck up front to try and get some goals.

Serious lack of creativity that unfortunately we will never accomplish with this poor quality of players that’s been assembled over many many seasons. Thank you the Hemmings clan and Ridsdale.
Hemmings and Ridsdale have brought nothing to this club that improves it. It has been year after year of complete neglect. Neglect to the stadium structure, the stadium roof, the pitch, the players. Everything done on the cheap. We the fans are the morons.

For me this is just the managers mentality in his first thought is to try and stop the opposition and not lose the game instead of playing to your strengths and going for the win. Can understand it against certain teams like Middlesbrough, Ipswich but not at home to Oxford
Disagree with this.
We went for the win we just didn't have a clue how to break them down and defensively we were all over the place.

If you put Alex Neil in charge of that group of players, with Iversen fit, we would easily get in the play offs this season.
I don't think there's any easily about it. The squad isn't as good as Milwall's squad. Where he is easily in the playoffs.

We don't know where we'd be right now if Iversen was fit the whole time. FWIW I don't think we'd still be in the playoffs, but I think we'd be just below it.

Not sure we would but agree that with Iverson we would definitely have more points , the January transfer window has also been another factor in dropped points , both of those together have buggered our season.

During the build-up from the back, they look to go long from the keeper but, at times, they look to build from the back. When they do this, they tend to form a 4-1-2-3 formation....

Committing a lot of players while attacking in the final third acts as an advantage during their to transition to defence. Upon losing possession, due to their numerical advantage, they look to crowd ...

A counter attacking 4-2-3-1 with width. The only time I've enjoyed watching us in the last ten years.

All the data does suggest we have been too over reliant on Iversen.

His saves in the first half of the season won us a lot of points.

Quite an embarrassing indictment really as it’s an element the manager has basically no tactical control over.
