Still ill from the Flu Jab, fuck it's kicked the shit out of me. But I am now below 20 stone. But just to kick me down again. 14 Years ago I rescued a Zebra Finch, Gave it Care and took in another rescue to give it company. That Zebra finch I was told was 10, so wouldn't last much longer. Well he did, 9 years. He gave us some little friends as we found out the hard way his companion was female. Anyway he died 5 years ago, 9 years after taking him in. We down to the last one of his First offspring. 14 years years on, Finchey Junior the first to hatch is the last. Sadly he's in his last days/maybe weeks. Gone from a Happy Chirper when we'd come in to struggling to fly in days. Vets say it's age and nothing can be done. I'm gutted, I know 14 years is a good age, but would of loved him to live the age the Vets claimed his dad was at 19. Because we couldn't prove his Dad's age, we couldn't take the record of 18 years. Finchey Junior we can prove his age, but 14 and half looks the best he will achieve.
Whats hurts is I taken birds in that Vets have said no hope. We have 4 Cockatiels around the average Life Span, A Cockatiel that's over the Lifespan and had some Zebra Finches that have outlived their lifespan. The Lifespan of a Finch is 5-10 Years. Cockatiels 10-15 years. We took a Cockatiel in for Palliative Care at the age of 29 it lasted until its was 31 and half (record is 36 years). I have had abuse for what I do. Yet despite these numbers seem impressive, I feel I always end up failing them. Not hearing Meep Meep every morning which we have had since 2012. Just gutted. Sorry for putting this here. Not going to sleep much, so at a loss at 2:10am, just powerless to do anything whilst he sleeps.
To add to my issues, the Doctors have advised I don't do the Bike ride, but they can fuck off. I put in a lot for this, 21 and half Stone down to 19 stone 11. They claim my health won't take the ride. well as Harry Hill famously said, only one way to find out FIGHT!. So still doing it, I deal with the out come later.
