Crowd of 8474 yesterday

Crowd of 8474 yesterday

You may well not have meant it, but you wrote it. Your post reads like you will accept any tripe because it matters not a jot whether we win, lose or draw or even if we bothered.

As for your last paragraph, I rest my case.

What I am saying is I will support the team regardless of what happens on the pitch. I want us to do well, maybe win for a start! I'm not content with what is currently happening, our home form is a disgrace and we look like going no where fast.

I am not accepting this and shrugging my shoulders but should I not go because we aren't doing well? How fickle is that? I will support the team for the 90 minutes on the pitch simple as that. If people can't be bothered going because we aren't doing well, then they don't deserve the success we get when it happens.

Exactly fella (to Wickerbasket), both Manchester CITY and Norwich CITY were relegated (amongst others like Forest and Leicester) to this League and maintained their crowds yet this "CITY" is totaly apathetic. The aforementioned have had more success in recent times prior to relegation so therefore, there should have been more uproar and discontent amongst their support but guess what?, they carried on supporting their team and all are now in a stronger position in a higher, sometimes to 2 division league. Meanwhile, us lot...

In truth, this CITY does not deserve a club.

Both the clubs you quote had had far more success in the years prior to their demise, than us and that, as I posted earlier, is the crux of the matter and the reason their support held up.

Joan, do you think that PNE, in the grand scheme of things, are a big club.

Please provide evidence that relates to reality and does not involve the words "Finney", "Double" or "Invincibles" as they count for nothing today as it stands, grand history as it is. If they counted for anything, then Hemmings would have sold up ages ago to some nostalgic romantic!

If we are talking within the realms of the 92 League Clubs, then I would put us at about 55th - 60th at best given our size, support and financial stability.

Over to you.

JD this is where you are wrong, we were a damned big club in the beginning and for a few years when Sir Tom was playing. Rather than accept what we have slumped to we should be aspiring to recapture what we had, and you have the nerve to call others apathetic.

Who appointed you and JD to say who deserves what? Bearing in mind you both accept that you have let your club down by your own admissions.

Yes it is.

To be honest you are doing a poor job if you really believe your second paragraph. The fact you preach it too less each home game should be the clue there.

I do not believe it is my responsibility to ensure that the clubs marketing fits my belief about what it should be like.

The fact it is not what I think it should be means the success, or otherwise, of my style of advertising can not be tested.

There are less there each week for many reasons, including the poor levels of engagement between the club and the supporters (the thing I am saying is much more important than pass completion)

For anyone who is attending the Shrewsbury game I will not be preaching anything 🙂

I mentioned their recent collective "success" within my original post.

OK then. Let's not turn up then next Saturday. We aren't playing well, why should anyone go? 🙄 The club and players need support! The fans are what make the club, without them the club has no reason to exist.

We are rubbish, accepted. We shouldn't tolerate that and something needs to change. No win in 10 at home is not good enough however but if people turned up for entertainment reasons they wouldn't turn up to Deepdale because just 40 miles away, Manchester have 2 of the most exciting clubs in England.

The club needs support and people are jumping ship because our manager says things in the press that they don't like. A bit of support and atmosphere yesterday worked wonders for the players confidence. Support the lads!

Given that we were playing against one of the bigger clubs in the league, who brought a fairly decent following, was yesterday our lowest home following in recent history for a league game?

The best way to address this would be a statement from the chairman?

Oh yes , I remember he can't!

But wouldn't it be odd if he somehow managed to communicate when season tickets come on sale?

Risdales situation is untenable. Please go

In response to your final paragraph...... Thank you, really thank you😉

So, you quote the "beginning" around 125 years ago and the "Finney Years" around 55 years ago.

Time has moved on, the days of paying £20 in the season and around £12 in the non season are long gone.

Wake up Joan. Today, we are where we are because we deserve to be and this is the size of the club whether you like it or not, bar the odd freak club upsetting the general odds higher up the pyramid.

Your anger should be directed at the PWs, not the likes of myself.

Have I let my club down?

Where?

Season ticket since 1981 bar about 4 years working match day and non match days for near enough ziltch, on and off the pitch in the mid 80s, for the club.

I don't believe people are jumping ship simply because of what Westley says to the press, its more losing heart with the rank bad management and being let down year on year whilst paying themselves more and more in the process. The rest of your post I agree with though. The question is what to do about it as Raefil says very early in the thread.

Solution
Lower ticket prices commensurate with our current standing and probable progress in the leagues

If it helps to gauge the mood I can tell you that a prawn fell off my bilini yesterday and I didn't even bother to instruct my man to pick it up!

You're now way too posh for this forum, I can trace it back to when you purchased that damn Shed...

😀
