Matchday Thread PNE v The Plastics - 17/02/24 - KO:3PM - Championship

Having Millar on the right really nullifies him as he is nowhere near as effective.

Brady has put two shifts in but is not attacking enough for this formation as it relies a lot on the creativity from out wide.

If we’re insistent on playing Brady I’d just put him on the right and just have one side weaker than two.
The issue is that the right hand side is always going to be weak no matter who goes there. We have always seemed far less attacking on our right hand side with Storey not as athletic or technical as Hughes, so the RWB never gets as high as the LWB.

I would sooner see Millar on the left in his proper position and Brady making do at RWB.

Happy with an honourable draw👍

Unfortunately I think if we had played all night we would not have scored in the second half 😟

Keeps the good unbeaten run going !

Watching the replay, im not sure Riis got a touch on the equaliser, hes been given the goal but to me it looks like the keeper knocked it in

Should be happy to come from 2-0 down to get a point, but 2nd half they were there for the taking, should have taken all 3 points today
Totally agree, though the defending from Lindsey and Storey for their goals was diabolical. They have to be two of the worst centre backs in the championship.

I’m not sure why when teams have a free kick in the opposition half, even though it might only be just in their half, they knock it backwards to the centre half who hoofs it aimlessly only for it to be knocked over the top by the opposition who are then one on one.

If my team were to do that I’d be pretty miffed, it would be pretty awful tactically.

Yeah, it's not Riis' goal - hence why he didn't run and celebrate, he just stood in the net.

He didn't celebrate the one against Ipswich which wasn't his either.

Two very poor goals to give away, the defence needs a bit of leadership and pace adding during summer.

Happy with the way we battled back, but despite us having most of the possession in the 2nd half and getting in some good areas, the final ball left a lot to be desired, we created very little where we say 'he should have scored' during the whole game, but 10 points from 12 is good going.

Only gripe apart from the dire defending for their two goals, are we incapable of actually playing well in the first 30 minutes, someone must press a button a hey presto we get going in the period just before half time
Brady great finish as for the result fair great entertainment though on the grassy banks of the Mississippi mud flats

Well I proper enjoyed that game, we have taken 4 points off the plastics this season and that will do me.

The first half hour was terrible, but after that I thought we completely dominated the game. That strike from Brady was a goal of the season contender I’m really happy for him.

Was lovely to see, Sid Snot, Raefil, Llanroc, Ando and Billymac today too. I’m so lucky to know such lovely people.

I am very happy it feels like a win and the team played incredibly well and did us proud (bar first 30 minutes).
