Preston North End 3-0 Rotherham United | Championship Highlights
Highlights of the Sky Bet Championship match between Preston North End and Rotherham United.
Kicks like a horse
Not really.Agree, going for the jugular comes through a cloud of alcohol! Keeping players fit and free from injury is far more important. Tha first half must’ve been a brilliant watch! Will be watching the highlights soon.
Before today? When was the last time we beat Rotherham at deepdale?
Why has the goal difference ship sailed ,only if the challenge for 6th is with Norwich, should they drop off and the 6th position is between Hull and North End then the GD will be important.🤔A good professional performance today. Rotherham didn't make horrendous errors, they are just L1 standard players.
Mads had a field day, huge quality in everything he does. Love watching him.
Completely understand the drop off in the second half. The goal difference ship has sailed, we are soooo far off Norwich and Cov. Important to save batteries for Monday.
I don’t think I got any words wrong, I honestly can’t remember many games on a Good Friday afternoon until very recently. I’ve been an ever present since 1981 and since then I’m pretty sure there haven’t been games for any season that I can remember at 3:00 until recently (and recently is around 10 years). Even the 1978 game at Chester seems to be unusual as there weren’t any for the years around. We had one against Portsmouth that was played at tea time in 2013 and that’s the first one I can remember since 1978.Not sure if I am a bit slow but I think you got a word or two wrong in there. I have read it three times and I am not sure quite what you’re saying PNE have done in the past.
Anyway, I certainly remember Good Friday being on the fixture list when I was growing up - with the 1978 promotion season having fixtures on the Friday, Saturday and Monday. Special train(s?) and all.
I have half a feeling that games might at one time have started a bit later on a Good Friday to avoid 3pm. Or was that just an idea that I used to think should happen?!! I can’t remember! I do definitely remember arguing that we should kick off at 3.15 or 3.30 - I think on this forum, which would suggest it’s been an issue for PNE in relatively recent years… after 2010.
Rotherham were unbelievably poor, a great opportunity missed to get our GD positive.Under Lowe, we’ve never gone for the jugular, his priority is always to hold on to what we have, often the right thing to do, but against Rotherham!?

a few seasons back the club Chaplain got us to agree a 5.30 ish start ... but it was never repeated.I don’t think I got any words wrong, I honestly can’t remember many games on a Good Friday afternoon until very recently. I really hate to go here but our club seems to have ignored what today means to Christians.
Agreed, it’s not often I am disappointed after a 3-0 win but I thought we should have gone at them in the second half and tried to win 5 or 6 nil, they were awful and low on confidence…..Why has the goal difference ship sailed ,only if the challenge for 6th is with Norwich, should they drop off and the 6th position is between Hull and North End then the GD will be important.🤔
Totally agree WLD …….I don’t think I got any words wrong, I honestly can’t remember many games on a Good Friday afternoon until very recently. It didnt feel like we'd won 3-0 when coming off at the end of the game, the 2nd half was very flat, but i guess the players will have conserved a bit of energy for Mondays game with it being such a comfortable performance todfayAgreed, it’s not often I am disappointed after a 3-0 win but I thought we should have gone at them in the second half and tried to win 5 or 6 nil, they were awful and low on confidence…..
Everyone else (other than the TV games) kicked off at 3pm today so you cant criticise the club for that one, and many years ago, when the general population were more religious than they are today, games were played on Christmas DayI really hate to go here but our club seems to have ignored what today means to Christians.
I thought that but the goal difference is a distant ship on the horizon…..far too late to do anything about it.Rotherham were shocking, we took our goals well but failed to capitalise on an opportunity to claw back our poor goal difference.
3 nil in 1970 to win 3rd division . 😅Before today? When was the last time we beat Rotherham at deepdale?
Spot on Bill , they were the worst Championship side that I have seen for many years.Rotherham were shocking, we took our goals well but failed to capitalise on an opportunity to claw back our poor goal difference.
I meant in terms of acknowledgement - a tweet saying we had no choice for instance, a message to us like they do for other religious festivals, even offering the use of a prayer room.Everyone else (other than the TV games) kicked off at 3pm today so you cant criticise the club for that one, and many years ago, when the general population were more religious than they are today, games were played on Christmas Day
Barnsley about four years ago ish when we won 5-1Rotherham are possibly the worst side I’ve seen us play at this level.
