You are referring to value on a football clubs ballance sheet for legal purposes.

A players actual value in the transfer market would usually be totally different.

So in the current transfer market and not business market, what do you think the value of our out of contract players would be in January.

20p and a crisp high-five?

It’s obvious that many would command no fee at all due to being either young and not good enough or old and past it. There’s another block who are semi decent / proven but don’t stand out. In theory they could be of interest to some clubs but there’s probably another 5-10 players out there who could do the same job so they will not be worth much. (Thinking Storey, Holmes, Ledson here). Said £100k for these but could easily be free just to clear a wage.

Then there’s Best, tough one, you’re going on potential. Based on Slater to Brighton then maybe £500k?

Woodman? Did himself no favours a stoke. On reputation then prob worth a decent wedge but currently very little £100k.

Then some actual assets. Riis, we could probably get £1m. Lindsay £500k.

Adds up to £2.4m. In all honesty I think that’s a bit optimistic!

Storey £100k
Woodman £100k
Riis £1m
Lindsay £500k
Holmes £100k
Ledson £100k
Hughes £0
Best £500k
Brady £0
Bauer £0
Evans £0
Seary £0
Taylor £0
Nelson £0

And one worth testing.

In much the same way as I could never get all that arsed about getting rid of Lowe I can’t get too excited about the idea of getting rid of Ridsdale. With the constraints from above any new person would very possibly struggle just as much and we’d just end up complaining about a slightly different scent of shit.

But total inertia never got anyone anywhere !!

I just don't think they'll replace Ridsdale with another egomaniac with a lot of hats - I think they'll have to bring in people for the various roles, ideally advised by the remaining football staff at the club.

So that alone improves club governance many times over, and we may even end up hiring someone good at their job.

What makes you think they'd do it properly? I see little evidence of any interest in doing the job properly up to now.

And which dynamic, ambitious, enterprising CEO will want the job knowing that we’re up for sale?

McCann is probably worth a bit...age. International, contract length. Whiteman possibly The problem we have is that even small transfer fees that could be in the reach of a L1 side wouldn't be feasible as wages would be an issue for the buying club.

I thought the difference between the 3 monthly meetings with PNE, is that those meetings are for off the field matters, non football matters. Compared to this upcoming meeting which has been asked for, is for more on the field football matters to get discussed and to see where’s the club is headed going forward. So in my mind CH saying that there is 3 monthly meetings and questioning why nothing has been discussed before. My thoughts are that they 2 totally different meetings to bring different subjects up.

Agreed.

The question was about the gang of 14 who’s contracts are up in summer.

The old man hired Ridsdale. The incumbents are the most hands-off owners ever, putting to shame the most remote, faceless, overseas, tax-avoiding ownership group. They also know jack about football.

I'm sure they'd take advice from within the game on a suitable management structure post-Ridsdale, and end up with actual football people this time.

You are right Keith.

Yeah, it either shows Craig has no idea what's going on, or that whoever ghost-wrote the response in Craig's name made it look like Craig doesn't know what's going on, in order to make a cheap, snidey point.

But the fans groups should accept Craig's clear offer here, to extend the agenda for future PSC and "FAN" meetings to include all off- and on-the-pitch matters, including criticism of the team, coaching, management, executive - everything.

Since that's apparently what Craig thinks those meetings are for, and he's the boss after all.

A poster, who works in the media, warned us very clearly that the media will not be our friend. Expect a whole lot more of this type of narrative.

In today's match report, BBC Sport say that last week Heckingbottom was called 'boring' by fans. This is nowhere near the truth, as the signatories to the letter actually stated that PH and SMc had their full support. Nothing but mischief making by the national broadcaster, of whom we're entitled expect more. Not difficult to see who's side they're on!

Yes, complete wrong end of the stick - as you would expect from a broadcaster that has cut its budgets to the point where it doesn't seem to even hire people capable of cursory research anymore.

For any media perusing the forum in the future, know that Hecky has our full support. It's the bloated whale carcasses currently filling the boardroom and Euxton with their pustulence that are the issue.
