Club Takeover/Investment

Club Takeover/Investment

Worth noting that Peter mentioned most of the outstanding transfer fees will be settled by next summer. It’s been suggested to me that this looks like “clearing the decks,” so any potential new owner wouldn’t be left paying off deals from the current regime.

To me, it also explains the Devine option something the IOM were never realistically going to fund, along with a number of other things.

I’ve heard more substantial reasons to be hopeful about a takeover, but out of respect to those involved I can’t share details. Despite a couple of posters suggesting otherwise, I can only go off what I’ve been told and was told Peter himself will discuss the rumours “in some way,” which he’s now effectively done.

Let’s hope whoever comes in, they mean business, and we can all start to look forward positively.

I found the 'if we sell for 3m there is 3m to spend comment' interesting. The regime need holding to that.

I wonder if the rumour takeover is done by January, and we then sign Cannon again as PR hinting that we might try to sign him in the future again. Was he meaning that after the takeover we might Tom In January.

A frank interview and I can’t think of anything that I disagree with.
The Great White Shark isn’t going to give an interview like that without a solid reason, nor without a nod from the Hemmings estate.
It’s no longer unreasonable to assume that the reason the taps were turned off mid-summer is because of a takeover development. I think it’s possible that it’s being thought about more seriously and is perhaps further down the line than Risdale implies.
Reading between the lines: there is more than one option and the interest is from the US.
Reading between the lines still more and guessing a bit - he’s met up with Mr Beast and told him to find us some solid investors who have a plan and then come back.
I think/hope talking to those investors is where we may be at the minute.
The other reason he gave the interview of course is to drop a hint to a rightly disappointed fan base as to why the transfer window turned out as it did.

That’s probably your best post ever.

As you’ve previously said something definitely happened just over a month ago that put an embargo on leaks and definitely changed our budget no matter what PR says now.
You just have to listen to the manager’s interviews around that time and compare them to the ones he was giving as we approached the closure of the window.
I really hope that these are the early positive signs of a new dawn at our historic club…surely it’s our turn.
🤞

I think what Peter is saying is that he would love to sign TC - and hinting that TC would love to come back. I don’t like to be negative but they’re just words. I suppose if Cannon doesn’t play between now and January, he’s positioning us as the front runners to bring him in as long as Sheffield are sensible about contributions. Ultimately it feels to me like there will be Cannon rumours every window until, age 36 -and unable to run, he finally returns!

Lots of very fair points and observations.

We do have some room for growth so I’m hoping someone is genuinely interested.

Preston as a city is growing massively with great transport links, room to improve the academy, finish the top of the invincibles and make Deepdale accessible for concerts etc.

There’s plenty of ways to make us more self sufficient with the right strategy and plan, here’s hoping.

Just wondering why people are assuming Mr Beast based on this interview ? 😊
Because he says "what SpudBros has done is raise our profile. I have actually had conversations with people who represent social media stars that I'd never heard of. I had to look them up and found out who they are".

I posted last week there were visitors to one of the executive boxes last 2 home games, there is something going behind the scenes, he definitely wouldn't of said anything otherwise.

Well it is nice to dream of a Hemmings/Revitt and Ridsdale free PNE. I don't know. Seems far off.
It's very much needed. We are going absolutely nowhere with those onboard. They have failed miserably for such a long time to change our fortunes, no invention, no real progression. This stagnant club has been left behind this year more than any other and it won't stop. What the Hemmings do has no place in football anymore, it's a shame that it's come to this but you have to realistic. We have wasted too much time already watching teams make headway over us, Burnley are now light years ahead of us because of one promotion to the top flight, now we can't touch them.

Please let something come from this. We can't put up with much more of working on peanuts, it's our turn now.
