Club Takeover/Investment

Club Takeover/Investment

The club is like a 1960's Spanish Hotel, owned by a wealthy family.
Once a swanky place that the great and the good visited, a nice place with outdoor pool, sun loungers, en- suite bedrooms, a lift, it was pretty cutting edge at its time and had a good occupancy level.
However some larger financed groups realised that Hotels could make a good return on investment and made nicer Hotels with better facilities such as a gym, indoor pool, sauna, steam room.. you know nicer things.
The old 60's hotel owners didn't keep up and now in 2025 they still have an old hotel with some "rustic charm" such as pictures on the walls of 60's superstars who graced the hotel back on the day, loyal members of staff, who are getting on in years and aren't really up to the job, but what can you do, you can't just replace them with hungrier more effective members of staff can you?
Then you have the occupancy level that is now at 30%, loyal customers who enjoy the "rustic charm" and loyal to the family owners.
The bedrooms are old fashioned, the tiles are avocado in colour and the smell is musty... It needs a big revamp.
All the while the finance group hotel has evolved with the times, renovated the hotel regularly, invested in it's staff, it charges more than the family owned 60's hotel but the guests see value for money and enjoy the experience the hotel has a healthy occupancy of 80%.. it makes money.
It really is simple, invest or sell up.

A quite reasonable analogy.

I have my own thoughts on the matter which I will share once I can be bothered getting my arse into gear.

I see that @concretebob is back with his "donations" line. I wonder if he would like to answer the questions I put to him on the 23rd May, or will he go into 3 months hidings.

I would genuinely like a response and a proper debate, thank you

Well, well...

Putting aside anything else said in this interview , it is good to hear that there is some truth to what I have been hinting at for the last month.

Whilst there is no link mentioned to the summer budget it certainly indicates a change may be coming.

I am led to believe it is a bit further along that what Peter suggests but totally understand why things are being kept quiet.
Oh please let it be true. At worst we will go downwards but we are heading in that direction anyway with the budget (or lack of).

As you’ve previously said something definitely happened just over a month ago that put an embargo on leaks and definitely changed our budget no matter what PR says now.
You just have to listen to the manager’s interviews around that time and compare them to the ones he was giving as we approached the closure of the window.
I really hope that these are the early positive signs of a new dawn at our historic club…surely it’s our turn.

Worth noting that Peter mentioned most of the outstanding transfer fees will be settled by next summer. It’s been suggested to me that this looks like “clearing the decks,” so any potential new owner wouldn’t be left paying off deals from the current regime.

To me, it also explains the Devine option something the IOM were never realistically going to fund, along with a number of other things.

I’ve heard more substantial reasons to be hopeful about a takeover, but out of respect to those involved I can’t share details. Despite a couple of posters suggesting otherwise, I can only go off what I’ve been told and was told Peter himself will discuss the rumours “in some way,” which he’s now effectively done.

Let’s hope whoever comes in, they mean business, and we can all start to look forward positively.

Be still my beating heart 😱

“What SpudBros has done is raise our profile. I have actually had conversations with people who represent social media stars that I'd never heard of.

. So, I think if people are interested in the English game, it's very attractive, particularly obviously in the States.

Its Mr. Beast surely
Think he insinuated that those in the social media world might not be able to find investors, but Mr Beast does have ties to Turki Alalshikh and Riyadh Season which would be alright I guess…
