Yep, he was dreadful at defending too, but that wasn’t my point!

BTW - Iversen was also pretty crap at goalkeeping, but he’ll sidestep any criticism because most fans think he’s some kind of demi-god. I know he’ll probably win us more points than he loses us this season, but that doesn’t alter the fact that he definitely has a mistake or two in him.

I’ve already posted my thoughts on Dan

Think we need an upgrade tbf

Have little confidence in him atm

It's strange how three players who looked so good for us have all gone backwards since their injuries – Iversen, Gibson and Pol. None of them have rediscovered the form they showed before.

The only time Valentin got close to his man, he got booked. Woeful.
The usual lack of care in possesion.
Throw ins; just throw it straight to the opposition. Let’s not prevent pretend we have a tactic.
It will be a long season watching Iverson kick it in the direction of Hughes and that is our out ball.
Osmajic?? What was that. No wonder he gets no service.
Bolton were beatable, but we didn’t even get close.

It took Moyes’ boys five games to get their first win after losing the PO match against Gillingham the following season.

If Hecky can’t get a team of his own players firing and is capable of going on 17 game winless runs, how many games are we realistically going to have to wait for this team to gel under his leadership?

For me, this season already feels like a write off. Even if you give Hecky the new players he wants, what’s to say he won’t just revert to his favourite shit show of Hughes, Lindsay, Storey, Potts and Thompson until we’re losing and he’s finally forced into making changes?

I really don’t want to sit through another season of it.
Get them all out of the club asap and some skillful, talented younger actual football players in. The lumpers must go.

Bolton really were there for the taking, but we gave them the match with that starting Xl. Lindsay, my god that was shocking at both ends. What the hell happened to Iversen, Storey and Lindsay for the first goal. Bad save and then fast asleep. Pol atrocious but at least we have Clarke to come in
Leroy looks a hell of a player

Iversen to blame for the first goal. First rule of keeping is direct your save away to the touchline. Surprising from him.

Second goal is shocking defending from Pol.

Devine our only creative outlet until Leroy came on who looked decent.

Got to start Erabi next match ideally 2 upfront.

Agreed but for me i’m more concerned by how they got in for the initial shot that he saved. Its genuinely scary how fragile we look in behind with the lack of pace back there.

Playing four at the back is better but not with the four we started with, Dan's error for the first and giving a speedy winger 100 yards of space to attack the only defender in a correct position was asking for trouble.
We scored a super goal and although we deserved nothing missed three absolute sitters.
Personal view think we need to jettison Murphy as a coach and get someone better.
Liked the look of Leroy

Iversen was poor but has plenty of credit in the bank, and will no doubt bail us out many times this season. Lindsay is still trying to dine out on a winning goal at Blackburn when Lowe was still here. No matter what we do in the forward positions, this team will be in the relegation mix if that back 4 lines up with any kind of regularity - it was absolutely horrendous.

It's a fucking kick int stones to get beat day one off newly promoted Bolton of all teams. Pre seasons been pretty shite too. But it is early days, a lot of turmoil behind the scenes and bringing the new players. So will give them the benefit at the moment. I don't think it ends well off current stats tbf.

Iversen the penalty shoot out hero last week gets pelted today because a ball took an awkward bounce just before he parried it when he looked like he would have caught it, couple of good saves later on, second Bolton goal was a good goal, couple of fluffed chances but Bolton have the momentum of the play off final victory, like we had when we won ours.
Bit harsh on the manager to complain about players who literally signed yesterday not starting. Having said that Leroy is going to rip up this league and he's ours! Probably a bit of a slow start while the new players gel but a lot of encouraging signs.
