Club Takeover/Investment

Club Takeover/Investment

Heard a piece on bbc radio yesterday where they were talking about Gateshead being the subject of American ownership interest. If they have interest surely we should still be of interest to others if this Zedan thing falls through.
They’re bottom of the national league for gods sake with an even worse set of results than ours (1 win in 13)

My guess is this is our summer fiasco…

CH was told by Penrose sale on track, he expected deal to be completed before the start of this season. As they are about to pick up a few quid from the sale and rid themselves of the ongoing amounts they have to pump in each season he releases a bit more money.

Penrose is concentrating on the sale expecting a completion and not concentrating on the needs for the coming season as he doesn’t think he’s going to be involved.

Ridsdale who hasn’t been involved in the sale and feels he’s been pushed out has his thoughts elsewhere as to what he’s going to be doing next and the PNE requirements for 26/27 not his problem.

Heckingbottom is left not knowing what is going on, being told new owner imminent.

The sale stalls for whatever reason, Ridsdale and Penrose panic, Heckingbottom is left with huge gaps although he states openly he is expecting more incomings but that doesn’t materialise.

The obvious chaos ensues with performances to match the dreadfully unbalanced squad and Heckingbottom gets the blame but confusion over sacking him because the possible sale is still in the air and who would the new owner want if he does complete.

Hecky sacked, Alexander installed (possibly using his heart not his head, or maybe a. If salary increase as bait) and takes over with a squad that no one could make perform.

Potential new owner goes cold on purchase, existing owner realises he and his 2 merry men have cocked up bigstyle, Hemmings organisation now facing a nightmare scenario of relegation, fan discontent, major financial losses and being stuck with the club .

So what will the Hemmings organisation do to solve this??

It needs some serious thought and work by those in charge and I’m really not convinced that they are capable of sorting it.

As fans what can we do? Go and watch our team get mauled every game (we certainly won’t be doing much scoring) . Protest ? To who …???

What’s the plan … what can we do….. damage limitation?
It's a decent theory. As fans, we're powerless. They undoubtedly took note of the toxicity aimed at Hecky when we lost to Lincoln but that was an easy hit for them, despite them not seemingly being ready to make the change. Protests won't change things on the pitch - the only person who can influence that is Grezza. Let's see what happens against an injury- weakened Wrexham....

But theyll be cheap as chips to buy and the goal will be to get League status. Doubt their ambition will be higher.
We will cost a great deal more and our running costs will be 10 times Gateshead, therefore, wed need owners with much deeper pockets

More determinations today. Pretty sure the Harrogate takeover was only started after relegation in May, with an update communicated last month...?

Rather worryingly it does seem like unless the club announce it, the IFR do not...

I mentioned in a previous post that if the deal have fallen through I could see any benefit in the Club and/or the purchaser making this public. My view on this hasn’t changed, and no one has come up with a rational reason why both parties would not make this public.

If i was Zedan now I'd be starting to drag it out myself to lower the price.
AZ: oh now im buying a league 1 club so I want to reduce my price by 10million.
CR: well we wont sell to you then.
AZ: ok good luck paying all the fees for Devine, Mills, Leroy, Kenny and Clarke!

I would think there is crisis in the IOM this morning.

I can’t see anyone buying the club in our current situation.

Only a miracle will save us from being relegated.

We have already spent big for us during the summer, we will have to really break the bank to get in players in January, and who wants to join a club adrift at the foot of the table.

Relegation will see the Hemmings organisation with a club with a massive shortfall in income and a huge wagebill.

The owners and their 2 appointed staff Penrose and Ridsdale have completely messed up so what do the Hemmings do now to rectify the position?

The ‘board’ which fans refer to is a completely toothless group of individuals who have very little involvement with any major decisions at the club.

Personally I have never witnessed seeing the club become so inept in such a short time, this so called “takeover” it would appear has distracted the powers that be so much that they have neglected to deal with the basics, particularly you can’t at any level have a football club with no attacking players.

So I think there will be panic and chaos in the IOM now as they look at the prospect of owning a league one club which is going to require a massive amount of funding to keep it alive with the shadow of a failed sale hovering over them.

I have no idea how they get out of this without pumping money in this coming January.
the only time there will ever be a crisis on the IOM is if a bunch of fans turn up at the gates demanding rivitts gets out of the club & takes her patsy ridsdale with her, or turn up at his house, but we wont do that & she / they know it & thats why they keep getting away with dishing up mediocrity, with the yearly wheeze of weve got a buyer, or whatever peter can think of next to keep fans mutiny from spilling over

I would hope and pray that nobody would ever even consider such a thing
