Club Takeover/Investment

Club Takeover/Investment

If the sale has failed it all really does look gloomy. should PNE get relegated, there’s easily a world you can see the club going into administration, points deductions and “ hoping to stay in league one” with a bunch of kids following a fire sale of supposed player assets. With the money spent and loss of all round championship income it’s all distinctly possible.

WTF has gone on, no one knows and results wise it happened at the end of last year and players and there departures have reflected it since.

The takeover is finished. Hemmings and Penrose look like ifiots being convinced by an opportunist that it would go ahead. Changes his demands even before the league firm (and club value) nosedives. Staff, players, all have glance anxiously over their shoulders. Value destruction writ large. And the better potential long term buyers rejected. You couldn’t invent it - unless your names was Craig Hemmings

Not long been home, and I don’t know whether I’m more angry or gutted.

I saw the team coach arrive and only 3 of the players acknowledged the fans they just weren’t interested even at that point. The passing wasn’t even good enough for non league, I was so bored the little boy sat with his dad next to me (aged around 3) was more entertaining with his iPad. I am trying so hard to keep positive but bloody hell it’s problematic. I feel so sorry for Graham and Chris, a pair of exceptionally professional ex players trying to progress the careers of players that simply don’t give a stuff.

It would be interesting to know which ones, although there's probably not even 3 I'd give one proverbial about if they left tomorrow.

Gutless would be my word for them. The previous manager was a shocker, the hierarchy are shocking but the mist shocking of all are the players. What on earth happened to professional pride, personal responsibility for fitness, desire to improve? Most of them are a disgrace?

It makes you wonder what has been going on behind the scenes. I just can’t accept that these players are as fundamentally useless as recent performances suggest.

We know each and every one is capable of playing with far better commitment, quality and pride than they are showing at the moment.

The question is why? This is where our manager earns his salary. Hopefully he is given the time and autonomy to try and solve the problem. If certain players need to be canned then he needs to be allowed to do so.

I get the feeling they've been asked to work harder show a bit more commitment and effort, I'll also throw in be a bit more professional as well.
This last 7 days suggests the majority don't like it.

Looking at the goals today it’s so frustrating. Just like Tuesday, each one easily avoidable just by fucking waking up a bit. If you get passed off the park then fair enough but that’s 8 goals in 5 days shipped out of almost literally nothing. Just defend with some positively and aggression. Be first to the ball. If you’re not, make it harder. If you concede at least make them work harder for it. These are basics of the game.

The negative is obviously that it’s still happening. The positive is that it doesn’t need Guardiola like levels of coaching genius to fix. What it does need are players who are willing to look at themselves and learn from mistakes and wise up fast.

That’s what our season currently rides on. Oh fuck.

I know at one point Zedan was ‘liking’ social media posts relating to the club .
For those who monitor this sort of stuff I wonder when his last ‘like’ was?

He actually eased off far earlier than people remember.. think it was around March/April.

The only two engagements (likes) since then have been the signing of Devine, and beating Rovers.. nothing else.

Yeah, he engages when things are positive. Unfortunately we have offered fuck all for him to celebrate.

Think it's Time The 3 Stoogies at the club should now come out and say or update the lost souless fans of what's going on before Relegationhits them in the eyes .And if that happened then we told you so.attitude it really is that vital now for the club to talk before the inevitable protesting starts ...or are they really that comfortable the sale.etc has is happening ..

I was happy the club spending big in the summer. We've all been craving this.

However, what I feared was not having an experienced DoF or similar ilk in charge to oversee this change in strategy.

Not only a strategy on incoming players but also management.

The strategy was to buy relatively young in areas we needed with a view to resale later on. Hecky pretty much alluded to this.

There should also be a seamless integration from one manager to another.

One that means, if we do change manager, we don't need to keep ripping up the squad and starting again every time.

This has clearly not happened.

The players bought and loaned have failed, miserably and we're back to tactics that don't fit the squad.

I'm not sure what the thought process was in appointing Alexander but it seems to be his preferred formation is probably different to how Hecky was shaping the squad over the summer.

Now we're stuck with several players out of position and it's affecting the standards across the pitch.

I was hoping the big spending would have been done post takeover and Zedan would have had some proper football people in place to oversee it and we would have stood a better chance of success.

My fears have unfortunately come true.

Anyone with a modicum of common sense can see there is no takeover happening, certainly not from Mr Zedan!

it is truly sad that the majority of posters on this forum have written their own narrative and are so desperate for the takeover to happen they cannot see the wood for the trees. In my opinion, and it is only an opinion, the current mess we are in is relatable not only to the dreadful management by CH, PR and IP, but also the huge amount of uncertainty caused by the Zedan takeover!

Whilst I appreciate the ‘new’ rules have added time to any buy-out process, it does not take this long to complete, and it also doesn’t take an Einstein to work it out.

Let’s be honest, if Zedan, or anyone else for that matter, was looking to buy the club, they would, at such a late stage, want some input into the appointment of a manager. If this was the case, do we honestly believe they would have chosen Graham Alexander!!??

Loved Grezza as a player, but what an awful appointment!

Only North End , I was so convinced the future was bright away from these owners , first a new pitch , £6 Mill on Devine , I after 50 plus years was dreaming ‘ it might one day be us ‘ , yes it might have gone pear shaped with new owners , but this slow death cannot continue.
Fast forward six months , 4 points , shambles on the pitch , poor manager replaced by at this stage an unknown quantity, awful football continues ( season number six of watching awful football for the vast majority of games ) , an acceptance in October that another stint in the lower leagues beckons ( not pessimistic just realistic ) but not all doom and gloom as potential new owners …
I was 99 per cent , I was 80 per cent in July , dropped to 50 per cent , I’m around 5 per cent that Zedan / Consortium are taking over
Fully expecting at some point a Penrose statement stating we are still looking for the right owners having proper dropped this all over the floor , with another dose of how grateful we should all be for the pitch , investment etc , it’s the hope that kills you , for a good few months I believed , I’m not sure this lot will ever sell , I would take administration and League One with a minus ten point start to finally be rid of these owners , clear the decks and start again … could it be worse ?

The two posts above would have been immediately met with a barrage of facepalm emojis two or 3 months ago. Not any more it seems. The whole landscape seems to have shifted in the opposite direction.

He was probably expecting a mid table handover then a January splash out followed by a Wembley play off victory…….then a sudden noise woke him up.
We’re fecked.
