Why whats wrong with it?
Three and a half years from Jan this year. Effectively 2 more years.
Mellor was ok earlier this year an then had a bad game and was dropped, Watford away. Up until then 4 goals in 11.5 games, not a bad return.
Since then he has been in and out, more regularly out.
Most teams tend to stick with their top goal scorers. We haven't.🙁

Mellor thinks he is better than he is, he needs to start moving his far ass and try and make an effort. Lazy doesn't come close
It doesn't help when your still injured.
Maybe he could be scared of getting injured again.

Mellor got dropped because he wasn't playing well nor scoring...
And since he hasn't been playing he looks to have put a stone on at least..
Get it sorted fatty

Mellor got dropped at half time at Watford. He had scored 3 goals in the previous 6 games.

dont remember him playing too well in the run up to that game though, so im not convinced it was his first bad game to be honest. Wolves at home he was atrocious and scored a pen. Swansea at home was an absolutely wasteful display from someone whos main talent in apparently finishing. Thats just off the top of my head. Hes been in and out since then because hes been inconsistent and injured.
Unlike some others in the squad its blatant he has the ability to be a real success at this level, and probably above, but its obvious his heads not in it IMO. His interviews in the build up to the liverpool game cemented my belief that he doesnt see playing for us as the oppurtunity it should be for him (a chance to prove his quality) because he obviously feels hard done to and thinks he should still be playing for Liverpool.
Factor in injury and fitness problems and it doesnt look great.

Mellor i would give one more season, i think preston have been really good to him when he was injured ect and how has he paid us back???
Look at how he played agaisnst liverpool? when he came on agaisnt coventry he didnt really run much??
he really does need a kick up the backside or look at the work rate of sedge(before he got injured) and wallace 🙄

He like the rest of the team went downhill after Chaplow got injured. He missed a few chances against Swansea along with Brown. He did have 2 disallowed against Wolves, he set up our goal at Burnley.
Since he was dropped he does look like he has lost interest. When he has come on recently he has looked slightly off the pace but links up far better with Parkin than Elliott.
Elliott has had far more bad games than Mellor IMO.

id say that Elliott looks more interested though.
I dont think Mellor ever had the interest to lose. He had a run of 7 games with Parkin when Parkin signed where they didnt click at all, granted the team werent playing well and parkin wasnt at the level he is now but its not like he hasnt played or had chances. Disallowed goals mean nothing, he was still gash.
The problem with elliott just seems to be his face doesnt really fit, no one gave him above a 6 in the player ratings against ipswich despite him having a hand in all our goals. Theres no denying Mellor would be a better option if he wanted it, but can anyone seriously, hand on heart say they believe he truly wants to be here.
I desparately want a fit and fighting Mellor in our first XI, but they are 2 qualities that have, for the most part, been sadly lacking in his preston career.

IMO Elliott is a box player and not a supporting striker. He puts in a lot of effort but is poor holding up the ball and his first touch is often bad. He and Parkin have shown zero understanding in all the games I have seen.
I think Mellor's biggest problem is his chubby baby face which gives him a disinterested look. Perhaps not shaving for a couple of days before a match would help🙂.
Remember he got injured chasing a forlorn ball and sliding off into the hoardings. I read that he aggravated the injury doing something similar at Cardiff. Not exactly a sign of no effort.
Looking back he hasn't started many games with Parkin, 5 at the beginning of the season when we were doing ok. Then Parkin was dropped for Brown then Mellor got dropped.

Its not necessarily a lack of effort, ive seen him put in a shift occasionally, theres just a general air around him of he couldnt really give a fuck I think.
Im not stupid enough to think he should bleed white, but he should understand that we have a track record of getting players (especially strikers) to where he obviously believes he should be, the prem. If he knuckles down, consistently puts in the effort, shows a change in attitude, he could be there within a year or 2, im sure of it. I jsut dont think it will happen.
and it was 7 games with Parkin wasnt it? 7 games from charlton to Watford.
