sledge to burnley!!

sledge to burnley!!

If we want him, he will come. He's the type of player I can see Coyle going for, age wise. He would jump at the chance of Premiership football, and I think we are just beggining our usual trick of trying to unsettle the player.

Be ready for this to be followed by some low-ish opening bids and then get him for around £3.5m I reckon. Coyle is quite snidy withhis transfer approach, using the media to suit Burnleys needs. It's not nice, but it works.

Get down from the clouds dingle. No matter what league you are in or how much money you now have, your still just Burnley. Sean St. Ledger is far better than Burnley Football Club and if he goes, i'll be fully expecting him to go to someone along the lines of Villa or Everton. If he signs for Burnley not only will I be disapointed for us, but also disapointed he didn't wait for a proper club to come in.

Not if the 4m bid that came in today is anything to go by!😉

Big interest, in the player.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Sunderland go in for him now it looks like Bruce is getting the job. He was very keen to get ledge to brum before we bought him.

Probably worse than a move to Burnley would be a move to another club in our league. I would guess only the following could possibly afford him: West Brom, Ipswich (Irish connection), QPR and Middlesborough.

Outsiders would be Forest and Derby if they are preparing a promotion or bust strategy - which seems entirely possible looking at the numbers of players being linked with them.

Maybe it isn't a team from the Premier League who has bid for him? 😉

mmmm.....cant be a scottish prem team as they havent got that much money between em.....doubt a championship team would pay 4 mill either.........do barca or real want him....lol

Sledge is Premier League standard so sadly, will probably be leaving over the summer but he is of a standard to attract attention from a top 8 club maybe even the big 4, I have been saying for a while that he is good enough for Man Utd,

Can I have a pint of what you have been drinking, get a grip, good yes, that good, not at the moment! 😕

He'd be better hanging on for a 'bigger' club to come in for him otherwise he'll be back in the Championship after one season.

What, like Newcastle, Middlesboro or West Brom Brian?

Other than the big four, plus Villa, Everton and possibly Spurs (none of which would be interested in St Ledger if we are honest) there isn't another 'bigger' club who could guarentee him premiership football the season after next.

It could all go pear shaped at clubs such as Portsmouth, Fulham, West Ham or Bolton at any time. That sadly is what the premiership has now come to..................a sort of closed shop for not much more than half a dozen clubs............all predominantly using the services of foreign players, hence England's national team is average at best.

Can we scrape a win v Kazakhstan(?)........that is the big question 😱.

you might have hit the nail on the proverbial head there....if memory serves me right rumours last summer that boro were indeed very interested....alledgedly, doubt they would be spending anything like that amount though....even though they have a very supportive and tolerant chairman

Boro have got one of the worst Chairman in the league, anyone with the slightest passing interest in football could see them as certs to go down three months before the end of the season and he didnt sack Southgate, so maybe he will give him loads of cash to spend.
