Agree. I thought during our better spells last night it was because BW was on the ball in advanced areas. Imagine if we were able to play like that with TB, ER and possibly SS making runs into space/channels. I'm pretty sure BW would be able to thread balls in much the same way DJ can do.Harsh. Bobbage makes very good points a couple of posts up. The lack of width gives no easy outlet.

He is a good player .....in that LG, which is our problem our team is full of utter average lg1 and lg2 players, at the moment our only championship standard player isn't even our player THE Gk ◇Sick of hearing good things about him. People just listen to how good he was at Doncaster and how much we paid. He is crap! Maybe a good player in there somewhere but would happily see us recoup what we can for him at this stage. In fact who cares, I dont care for Hemmings or his money. He can carry on pissing it all away for a lost cause.
Never a holding midfielder, simply.
Needs a sitter alongside him for him to get upfield and play balls in behind the defence. Having him sit deep and lump it forward is a waste of everyone's time.
Decent player, just another being played in the wrong position.
This in a nutshell, look at where he played against us in the cup at Donny.
Tore us apart.
Far more aggressive today in terms of pressing, winning the ball back and getting forward. Sitting back and playing that McKenna type role just doesn't suit him.

DJ playing in an attacking role and having a good game - shock horror.
Think it's more about the ball being played on the deck, rather than pinged over his head. Was largely crap last season in the 10.
Good comparison on today’s performance, if that had been his debut we’d be wondering how we got him to Deepdale. That one that rattled the bar. What a peach that would have been! He looks like Michael Carrick and plays like him.
I think his other performances this season have been more Michael Crawford than Carrick but hopefully today is a fresh start and clean slate for everyone.
Thought he was excellent today, lacks pace but other than that is a very good player.
If he had Ben Pearson next to him he'd be unplayable.
