You will watch Mr Beast pick our signings out of a hat and you will enjoy it.
“I let 100 people take a penalty shootout for a chance as PNE’s number 10”

I know the rumours keep cropping up that it's someone who is famous from social media. There's obviously a whole bunch who none of us have heard of who are rich but how many of them are rich enough to buy a football club? I keep seeing it suggested that it's Mr Beast because he appeared in a SpudBros video although I can't help but wonder who else there is out that it could possibly be

These folk are no mugs. Just look at the way social media has changed the game, my daughter was obsessed with one lad in this country who, by the age of 20, already had a book deal, a UK theatre tour, millions of YouTube and Twitch subscribers, merchandise lines – the lot. At his show the crowd treated him and his mates like superstars. That’s the scale and influence this new world brings.

And then there’s Mr Beast. People keep mentioning him just because of the Spud Bros video, but his reach goes way beyond that. The guy has hundreds of millions of subscribers, huge business ventures in tech, food, games, investments, and crucially the sort of contacts who are prime candidates to buy into a football club. He doesn’t need to be the one fronting it, but being on his radar gets PNE’s name out there, which is exactly what Harley and Jacob have helped do. Yesterday’s Liverpool launch proves just how far they’ve already taken things. Jacob plays it down with the “we’re just two lads who sell potatoes” line, but that’s now a tiny part of what is a very big money-making machine.

I may be completely off, but as Ryan Reynolds and Wrexham have shown, with the right people, the right networks, the right money and most importantly the passion to prove everyone wrong you can go a very long way. Imagine if someone came in and actually took us to the promised land… we’d be building statues for them.

He’s already in business with Riyadh Season/Turki Alakshikh who recently sold his stake in Almeria and has publicly said he wants to be involved with an English club…

Difficult to know if this is a precursor to a sale or not, but effectively wiping £30m of debt will no doubt make us a more attractive option to investors.

If the club’s balance sheet now shows £33m of debt to the Hemmings instead of £63m, I wonder how that stacks up against other clubs that potential buyers might be considering? Many of them must have horrendous debts, much of which can’t be written off in this way, so I’m guessing pretty favourably.

Didn’t think it would take long
They're in similar debt to their owner of ~£21m as of 2024, increasing by about £5m per season.

There's so much potential with this club and its just waiting for the right people to come along and take it to the next level.

If we somehow get involved with Mr Beast and his contacts and associates then the revenue will sky rocket along with everything else.

I'd rather be a "thicko nobber" than a drug addict donkey lasher! It didn't take long for thier jealousy to spill out.

I agree. The thing that excites me most about the ‘Mr Beast’ type social media stars is the reach that these people have.
Everyone on this Board is a victim of the dynamic that means the football club you first fall in love with often becomes your club for life.
A takeover fronted by a Mr Beast type character opens up the possibility of global fan base in the tens of millions and everything that goes with that - higher TV revenues, shirt sales, sponsorship deals etc and in turn the kind of long term financial sustainability that could allow Preston to compete at the same level as Premiership clubs consistently in the future.

Settle down
Best they could expect is their name in a paving brick

But won't the Hemmings be wanting something for their shares in the event of a sale? i e. won't the sale price reflect the value they place on those shares?

To be fair, there are one or two sensible responses….

Some posters pointing out to the original poster that the Hemmings are writing the debt off…
