Matchday Thread Coventry City v PNE -23/02/24 - KO:7.45PM

I believe the Oldham owner has just returned from completing a charity fundraiser for Alzheimer's and they made this game a £1 a ticket to celebrate his efforts with all money going to the same charity. Think the owner raised £300,000 which is a fantastic effort.
Every credit to him.

Out of interest, I’ve just checked on a few crowds from teams near us, and was astonished at the Oldham gate.

There were 12,956 at the Blackburn v Norwich game and
There were 11,881 at the Oldham v Kidderminster game. What a fantastic effort.
That's more than they ever got in standard games in the league. Clearly the Oldham fans have rallied in adversity.
A bit like Bolton whose support has increased after the Ken Anderson shock of nearly going under. Their support was usually a bit less than ours in comparable circumstances.

Yep he's the bloke who rows solo across the Atlantic in a flat cap.

As mentioned above tickets were £1 with the proceeds to charity

Finish in the top 2 of this mini-league:
North End have a drastically inferior goal difference, so a clear points lead is required.

5. WBA. 56
6. Hull. 55
7. Norwich. 52
8. PNE. 52
9. Coventry. 51

Not sure why, but it looks more achievable if you change the points like this..

36 points left to play for

1. WBA. 5
2. Hull. 4
———————
3. Norwich. 1
4. PNE. 1
5. Coventry 0

Coventry fans really not happy about it, but you see this thype of thing in every game every weekend, hes just unfortunate that he fell awkwardly
Way I see it if hughes stands his ground then he gets clattered at neck height and possiblyhurt and probably gets a foul. Spur of the moment, he ducked to protect himself!

If you’re going to challenge like that then accept the consequences.

Hughes is excellent in the air and a full 8 inches taller than their lad.

It’s with good reason that it would have been penalised in rugby Union.

I see Plymouth tickets are very sensibly priced. Interestingly, the coach is significantly cheaper than Chelsea, despite us being told the Chelsea coach was put on at cost neutral. Hmmm.

How many days does it take to get to Plymouth and back on a coach ?
Club coaches depart at 6am 😴

I’m really tempted with those prices , think it will be a good atmosphere and a tasty game

Pity it’s so far away
