I think Brown Phil has been playing too much FM2009........
Fulham paid £3.0m for him in 2008 and so you would think that he should be an asset to us. If we only started negotiating for him at 5.30 pm, he clearly wasn't our first choice though.
Or Fulham weren't prepared to let him go until they had an idea if Eidur Gudjonson would go to them?

Gives us some much needed freshness up front. Gives us some pace as well which we've been badly lacking. Best of luck to the lad.
With the options we have upfront and surly coming off the bench, we should see goals.

someone on the bbc live feed accused blackpool of playing champ manager 2003 with their two signings earlier in the day lol.

He was the best striker in the world then.
Good to see fans giving new signings a chance😛Poor signing, we need a goalscorer.

You might br right, you might be wrong, but the fact is at this moment in time you have no idea like anyone else if he is a good signing or not - only time can judge that. So surely until he has had a run of games we should back the player and manager as any negaitivity from the fans cannot help?

Quite a lot of footage on youtube on Eddie albeit old footage.
I hope he does well.......it could be worse we could have got Andy Carroll back!
The above post lacks substance, a post for the sake of a post.

I am not sure whether I agree with you or not.

We probably had to wait until the Eidur Gudjohnsen deal went through before Fulham would agree to let Eddie Johnson leave.

Fair point.

Yeah. I think that's what Brown meant when he said that luckily all the 'ducks were in a row' for us to sign Eddie Johnson.
It must be a very tough job trying to get players in, especially in our current positon. Brown and Horton have worked extremely hard. There are quite a few players we will have missed out on for various reasons.
I reckon they have brought in some decent players and definitely improved the strength of our 1st team (not squad). We should be well happy with these signings, all things considered, particularly when you look at some of the dross that we have signed in the past.

Interesting that at one point Stumpy was prepared to pay several million for him, while at Derby.
So if we'd have given BD the cash he wanted, we might have ended up with him a few years back for a pile of cash - instead of now, for free. 😎
Ain't life weird. 🙄
